The Path of Love’s Evolution
An Experiential Archetype Workshop
October 6th 2024, Yallingup, Western Australia
In 1992 the relationship counsellor John Gray bought out his famous book Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, putting this archetypal couple on the radar of the general public. However simplistic, and somewhat misleading (Venus and Mars live in each individual whatever their gender!) it raised the awareness of these aspects of the masculine and feminine in the collective.
However, Venus and Mars energy is part of the attraction between people and is a natural part of any short or long-term relationship. Psychologically and spiritually though these parts of ourselves also constitute the raw material upon which we learn, grow and develop our relationships and our individual capacity for relationship.
In archetypal psychology and therapeutic astrology, this relationship evolution naturally draws us towards higher and deeper experiences of our outer relationships and, in the relationship between masculine and feminine within ourselves.
This workshop follows one three stage evolutionary pathway that starts with Venus and Mars, gets heightened by the archetypes of Eros and Psyche and deepened by the union of Jupiter and Juno.
Stage I: Venus and Mars combines a goddess of love, beauty, creativity, sensuality and feminine sexuality, with the masculine warrior God Mars who is full of desire, drive, passion and phallic sexuality. They’re coming together create dynamo of passion and creative eroticism.
Stage II: Eros and Psyche are higher octaves of Mars and Venus and are the mythological son and daughter-in-law of the two. Eros is the beautiful winged god of love who falls in love with an exquisite, sensitive and mortal princess, which launches the couple on a challenging journey towards finding pure love.
Stage III: Jupiter and Juno are the powerful and gracious king and queen of Mount Olympus, the Greco-Roman version of Heaven. Their mythology is fraught with conflict and infidelity if we are to believe in that culture’s story. However, we will discover that they are far more than their allegedly dysfunctions and much closer to the sacred marriage.
In the course of the day, we will be working experientially with each of these archetypal couples in ways that can assist in moving through relationship obstacles, shedding relationship conditioning from our family systems and opening our hearts to greater love and intimacy both within and without.
This includes the use of active and passive meditations, dance and movement, Voice Dialogue and the magic of an embodied archetypal form of experiential astrology, none of which require any previous experience or knowledge of the archetypes or astrology. Come to the workshop with an open mind, with curiosity and a willingness to explore your inner self more fully.

- To take significant steps towards the sacred marriage within and without, towards what is called the Shiva Shakti union in India.
