Apprentice training programs are only open for a brief window each year. This ensures Daniel can work closely and carefully with people committed to the work before he retires.
Opportunities for ongoing training and mentorship follow the apprenticeship program. These include Leadership and Train the Trainer Programs.
This initial online training program prepares the individual for creating their own practices or incorporating it into their existing work. It is followed by more advanced live, in person programs that lay the foundation for becoming a trainer in experiential, therapeutic, and primal astrology. These will be offered either nationally or through intensives in Australia or overseas in future years.

Daniel Sowelu is a therapeutic and experiential astrologer, Primal Therapist, multi-skilled group leader, professional trainer and sacred tour leader who has created and developed this unique work over a lifetime of service.
Daniel is also a revolutionary advocate for the reclamation of the sacred feminine in astrology and spiritual life. His 40 years of practice dovetails with 45 year of daily practice in the Shiva Shakti sacred marriage traditions of India.
He has been teaching experiential astrology to others for over 21 of those years. This next round in 2026 is his 12th 1-3 year professional training in Primal Astrology.
Experiential astrology is a broad term that covers a wide variety of practices, all of which are aimed at using the astrology wheel as a vehicle for deep inner healing, transformation, awakening and illumination.
The training is a profound and deeply intimate enquiry into the multi-dimensional aspects of self with Daniel and guest practitioners. This is a unique process and the only one of its type currently available on the planet.
To be professionally trained in this exceptional and revolutionary work, the student is required to work through sequential layers of coursework and workshops involving increasing depth and breadth.
As the training is based on the Wounded Healer archetype, in conjunction with the healing power of the sacred feminine, participants will work experientially, therapeutically, and spiritually with the primary archetypes of the birthchart, including many of the Asteroid Goddesses.

Investment Information
The investment for Primal Astrology I: Experiential Astrology Practitioner Apprenticeship Training Program is $7,600.00 (all prices are in AUD, GST inclusive if applicable).
A deposit of $800 is required with booking, non refundable 2 months after formal start and pro-rata before that less any payment processing system fees.
We welcome regular payments over a 12 month period.
All payments are requested via EFT/Bank transfer in Australia, via Wise.com internationally, and if needed online payments via debit/credit cards or PayPal are avaliable, but may incur a surcharge fee.
There are no concessions but payments can be extended to 16 months. If you are in need of a payment plan, please contact Daniel to discuss this option. Partial scholarships may become available depending on group size and proven commitment to the work through readings and public workshops.
Interested International people: If you are thinking of joining the group apprenticeship programs and are facing difficulty with session times, Morning and Evening Sessions Sydney time will be offered in the 2026 Group Training to counter time zone challenges.
We will partner you with someone in a time zone that would work for both of you.

Distance Students
The entire first year program, Primal Astrology I, can only be done online.
This makes the training much more accessible for interstate and overseas students.
All the model and buddy work can also be done online.
All the training sessions are recorded as audio and video via Zoom and you will receive access to 20 evening session recordings from an earlier training to work through in your own time.
The Primal Astrology II, III, IV can only be completed live in either Australia, Bali or India, and in future years, possibly in the UK and US.
Peer Support System
Each participant will have a ‘buddy’ training partner for the duration of the program.
Your duo will meet regularly in between formal group sessions for ongoing support, exchange sessions and completing set tasks.
It is an extremely important and rewarding part of the Apprenticeship program.
We do our best to partner you with someone of similar experience and workable time zone differences.
One On One Sessions With Daniel
Throughout the training process each participant will receive 10 sessions with Daniel.
This enables you to work with both personal and professional issues, astro-opportunities, wheel work, and/or professional supervision.
This enables Daniel to monitor and support your process, progress, and development.
Other Course Inclusions
Once committed, participants will also receive:
- A professional manual and workbook;
- A copy of the astrological medicine wheel and symbols for 26 archetypes;
- Free access to Daniel’s entire collection of recorded seminars; and,
- 50% off the cost of any of his workshops anywhere in Australia and overseas (excluding tours and retreats) for the duration of the program. Graduates of the program can go onto become interns for more advanced training and, for selected individuals, become Accredited Teacher Trainers in Experiential and Primal Astrology (Primal Astrology IV) – more information below.
Prerequisites
Ideally individuals will need some experience of both individual counselling/therapy, and individual spiritual development such as meditation, ritual and ceremony, visualisation etc. Whatever your background, we are open to considering anyone with a strong commitment to their inner development.
Professional students will be required to have attended at least four days of experiential astrology workshops and/or a series of four or six individual sessions with Daniel, or any of the following senior graduates before the beginning of the Apprenticeship:

In addition, an initial 2 hour in-depth astrology session with Daniel is required if you haven’t already had one.
Finally, applicants will need a basic understanding of the zodiac signs, planets, houses, aspects, transits, and progressions found in the birthchart – or have completed Daniel’s The Sacred Map fundamentals course. This can be done concurrently with the first year of training.

Your Journey Will Include
1) Deep work on your own inner healing
Any truly professional training demands that practitioners have done significant work on themselves, know their issues well enough to recognise them during the therapeutic encounter, and are aware of the potential for transference and counter-transference problems with their clients.
In this training program, you will come to understand the Wounder Healer, one of the archetypes ruling experiential astrology who’s primary teaching is that our healing potentials are greatest in those areas we are most wounded, and these are only fully available to us when we have dived into, and through, our own wounding.
By developing an intimate relationship with the parts of self represented by the planets, asteroids, and signs in astrology, you will be able to emotionally and energetically hold a deeper space for your own self enquiry and healing, and that of your clients.
2) Developing multi-dimensional therapeutic and intuitive skills
Experiential astrology works extremely well with a wide variety of modern therapeutic practices. The nature of the astrological medicine wheel allows it to provide a powerful archetypal container for many forms of healing.
This training program includes the experience and development of skills in voice dialogue, psychodrama, primal therapy, pre-natal and past-life regression, passive and active meditations, in inner child work, goddess reclamation work, the sacred marriage, and Shiva Shakti traditions.
3) Foundation building for a creative and unique private practice
Daniel developed this unique and eclectic system from the experience of his own therapeutic and spiritual journey, combined with his therapeutic training. Consequently this training provides the foundations for participants to develop their own unique versions of the work, consolidating these foundations with a sound professional basis that encourages individual creativity and innovation. This includes a focus on personal and professional boundaries, contracting, money matters and safety issues.

Accreditation
The experiential astrology training is accredited with the International Institute of Complementary Therapies, the only such accreditation currently available on the planet.
As well as being a recognised professional qualification, it also gives graduates an immediate right to become a member of the Institute, and access to professional indemnity insurance, and public liability insurance.
Advanced Trainings Prerequisites
Primal Astrology II: Astro-Therapy Facilitator
Successful completion of the Primal Astrology I is required or accumulated experience from Daniel’s past experiential astrology workshops.
Primal Astrology III: Advanced Astro-Therapist
Successful completion of Primal Astrology II or of earlier trainings with Daniel.
Primal Astrology IV: Teacher Trainer
Successful completion of Primal Astrology I, II & III. Students wishing to become accredited trainers in this work, will need to have been practicing as Astro-Therapists, Experiential or Primal Astrologers for a minimum of two years and have completed 100 individual sessions with clients (not including training and model sessions).

Primal Astrology II: Astro-Therapy Facilitator
This Training is a 7 month commitment
This is Stage II of the overall training for working more energetically and emotionally with the core 26 archetypes in the sacred astrology wheel. The deeper nature of this work requires live in-person attendance. to supplement monthly online sessions. and live modell work.
This stage is offered periodically in Australia, Bali or India, when a group has completed Primal Astrology I. Overseas graduates are also invited to host Daniel coming to their home country for a live workshop tour or tours, the work in which is accredited to the Stage II program while accompanying monthly sessions and live model work.
Primal Astrology III: Advanced Astro-Therapist
This Training is a 7 month commitment
This Stage III live process allows advanced students to develop practices drawn from Primal Therapy, Spiritual Midwifery and from the Shiva Shakti traditions of India. Astrologically, this includes additionally intensive work with Pluto and the Outer Planets, Chiron and Hygeia, the Dark Goddess, and Black Moon.
Primal Astrology IV: Teacher Trainer Level
This Training is a 10 month commitment
Each intern will have their own specifically designed program and will assist the training leaders in live workshops and training intensives.
