Healing Our Cellular Origins
A Primal Therapy, Spiritual Midwifery and Experiential Astrology Workshop.

In the last 40 years, we have learnt a great deal about the significance our birth experience has had on us emotionally, spiritually and psychologically. Less has been known about the significance of our actual conception and our journey whilst in utero.
My name is Daniel Sowelu and for the past 35 years I have been studying and practicing a variety of modalities specialising in the impact that our conception, gestation and birth have had on our entry into and evolution through life.
I have created a signature workshop that allows participants to re-experience their journey in a safe group container. Slowly we work through each trimester using specially designed meditations, visualisation and regression techniques – focusing on the powerful influences of our conception and our birth experiences.
We draw on and access what is called ‘cellular consciousness’, where even at the most elementary points of our development, we are not only influenced by the energies around us, we absorb them on top of our physical DNA and cellular structure, where they are made into bodily memory.
I have created this workshop using a globally unique combination of experiential practices drawn from three powerful traditions* – Primal Therapy, Spiritual Midwifery and Experiential Astrology.
This combination allows us to access the multiple layers of energies around us before we were born and may help with
- releasing trauma,
- unblocking developmental delays and
- supporting us to open to the mystery, and at times the ecstasy, of our life’s beginning.
This workshop is purely experiential, there are no requirements for any knowledge, experience or background in any of these areas to be able to fully participate. We tune into and access our own deep layers of intuition and body knowing
By participating in this workshop you will have the opportunities for;-
- Releasing any in-utero trauma whether directly to you or through your mother’s body.
- Flushing out layers of ancestral energies, wounds and influences absorbed from conception onwards.
- Clarifying the difference between your own emotions and those taken on from your mother and less directly, from your father.
- Getting a much clearer and bigger picture of who your parents were at the time of your conception and how they really felt about your appearance in their world.
- Identify what constraints, family patterns, emotional development influences, even material and financial issues have impacted the way you were received and nourished in utero.
- Learn more about the emotional needs of this much earlier version of your inner child.
- Unlock absorbed sexual energy that has overlaid your own organic sacred sexuality.
- Feel, express and release emotional and psychic energy that was locked up at your actual birth.
- Change the way you see yourself and the world having released birth impressions.
- Discover a deeper awareness of what are the primary spiritual and karmic drivers that led to you being born into this body at this particular time on the planet, whether you call those soul purposes or life missions.
- Completely alter the way you approach deep change in your life.
- Those of you who are practitioners, to dramatically deepen the safe holding spaces you are able to offer your clients and become even more powerful agents of transformation.

Times: 9 AM to 5 PM Saturday July 22nd, 9 AM to 4 PM Sunday 23rd. Please arrive at 8:40 AM on the Sunday for a 9 AM start.

What to Bring:
- cushion or pillow and blanket.
- Yoga mat or thin to medium foam mattress.
- Journal or paper and pen.
- Water bottle.
- Wear loose comfortable clothing for moving in and for working on the floor.
- Please provide Daniel with your birth time, date and place if he doesn’t have a copy of your birthchart.
On-site Accommodation: there are three rooms available at the venue including Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, two queen size rooms and one twin share with prices between $100-$200 per room per night, with communal kitchen and two shared bathrooms. These costs are separate from the workshop fees.

And of course, this knowledge has existed for millennia through the wise women, the midwives of old and the secret women’s business traditions. Also in Buddhist traditions there are Womb Conditioning meditation practices for releasing absorbed material. Modern science, medicine and psychology has, despite its advances, once again been slow to catch up, especially on the bodily emotional, psychological and spiritual impacts of the in utero experience.
One of the pioneers of working therapeutically with the conception to birth journey was the Melbourne psychiatrist Dr Graham Farrant, a primal therapist who trained with the creator of primal therapy Dr Arthur Janov. I had the great fortune of meeting Graham and training with him in this work over a two-year period.
As for modern astrology, the brilliant Tad Mann described a way of tracking the conception to birth journey through the birthchart, postulating that the conception point was the cusp of the Ninth House. However, during my primal training, I was to discover through my own experiences and that of my fellow trainees, that the conception point is much earlier.
Some years later, I was married to the spiritual midwife and multi-skilled therapist Cloudia Defrenne and leant a great deal from working with her in our combined groups, workshops and retreats over a period of 20 years.
The progressive joining of these threads led me to create this unique workshop, a combination of primal work, experiential astrology and spiritual midwifery, having run 12 of them since 1990.
