Ancient Indian mythology offers a most articulate description of the pathway to the Sacred Marriage. A divine union between the evolving masculine and the deep sacred feminine, culminating in the bond between Shiva and Shakti. This union is most embodied by the marriage between the Tantric Yogi God Shiva to Parvati, the Yogini Queen and Goddess of the Sacred Marriage.
In dynamic harmony with the myths and stories of India there are gifts, both deep and expansive, and spiritual practices developed over 3000 years of civilisation.
We often resonate with these myths on a deep level, yet wonder:
- How does ancient mythology relate to us in modern times?
- How can we explore, develop and enhance our own sacred feminine and divine masculine?
- And how can this help us heal and live more vibrantly in our daily lives?
The journey of Shiva and Shakti is not just the play of the great gods and goddesses, their characteristics are deeply embedded in our own cells. We see them represented as different aspect of ourselves and call them names such as archetypes and subpersonalities or in astrology, we know them as planets and asteroids.
The Shiva and Shakti (masculine and feminine) elements are reflected in our individual birth charts as archetypes of healing, authentic transformation, exquisite love and spiritual exaltation.
This workshop includes practices from this ancient Shive Shakti tradition, along with dance and movement, forms of dialoguing and the equally ancient magic of experiential astrology.
A fusion of techniques that allows us both emotionally and spiritually to access these parts of self in our physical and subtle bodies.
No knowledge or experience of astrology is required to be able to participate fully.
The astrology of this weekend is exceptional; Chiron the Wounded Healer conjuncts the Sun, Mercury and North Node; Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct in Taurus; Venus conjuncts the healing goddess Hygeia, Parvati is directly overhead in Aquarius and Shiva are trines Pluto. This is Astro speak for saying that this is a highly auspicious time for opening to these ancient feminine and masculine parts of us as we journey towards an inner harmony and sacred marriage.
Your Hosts For The Weekend
Daniel was initiated into the Shiva Shakti traditions 45 years ago and has been using its practices daily since that extraordinary awakening. He has pioneered his own unique mix of experiential Astrology and therapy for over four decades. Chandu is a highly experienced meditator, mentor and women’s group leader whose spiritual journey has taken her through India, Africa and Tibet. Her spiritual name is Parvati and in her work she supports the dynamic change of women to walk an intuitive path of the heart.
Together they run Goddess and Shiva Shakti tours and retreats in India on a yearly basis.
During this workshop you will have opportunities to:
- Awaken the Shiva and Shakti archetypes within.
- Experience a deeper, more expansive and fully balanced relationship between your own masculine and feminineaspects.
- Dance with wild and untameable parts of self that normally are often repressed in society.
- Dismantle the rigid and life denying aspects of the patriarchy while releasing distortions to the sacred feminine.
- Step more fully into the strong, healthy and healing masculine.
- Allow the deep goddesses to flush lower chakras creating more space for the Shakti to dance.
- Touch the wholeness and explore the ecstasy of the sacred marriage within oneself.
- Clear shadows off our hearts and release ancient trauma and defensiveness that limit our capacity for intimacy.
- Go beyond “normal” relationship and create deep, evolutionary connections with others.

Bring: Loose comfortable clothes to dance and work on the floor in, drinking water, shawl or light blanket, pen and paper.
