Many of the themes of last month’s astrology continues into this month, with another round of challenging grand crosses wrapped around the Mars/Black Moon squaring Saturn and Pluto dynamic. However, thanks to the Sun and Mercury travelling through the earth sign of Virgo, we are also getting a series of brilliant grand trines involving water and earth signs, including a grand sextile or star of David pattern. Many of these trines support us to get more confluent with the processes of radical and deep change of this intense period of human evolution.

This months Astrology

At the very least, August and the next three months, are going to be very intense, even by 2020 standards! The chart for the month has multiple Grand Crosses, probably the most challenging of astrological configurations, but ones that are also interweaving with some particularly good aspects simultaneously.

As we roll timewise into July, we are also rolling with a much bigger wheel, one created by the two eclipses in June and, about to be given another kick along the road by a third eclipse on Sunday the fifth. So, these twin themes of facing great challenges, and often unexpected opportunities, continues throughout this month, with the resonance of the three eclipses vibrating into the rest of the year.

Usually in my analysis of the astrology, I simply use the chart drawn from midnight on the first of the month. However, this month I’m drawing from three charts, using the charts of the two eclipses on the 6th and 21st. So in many ways we are having three peaks astrologically speaking over the month, with the eclipses heightening and exaggerating the already existing processes

This is a potentially wild, unpredictable, chaotic and, liberating month.

What a surreal, radical, exceptional time we live in!
 
We astrologers always expect major upheaval when the two heavyweights Saturn and Pluto come together every 40 odd years, as they did in January. But the likelihood of an exact line up between them “coinciding” perfectly with an eclipse is something that may only happen once in hundreds of thousands, if not millions of years. So, astrologically this time is radically out of the ordinary even by Saturn/Pluto standards.

At the start of the month we have the Sun, Neptune, Eros, Psyche and the retrograding Mercury all in Pisces, generally describing an emotionally and psychically fluid period of time. And not just in terms of our own inner experience but also because Pisces heightens our psychic and emotional sensitivity to others and the general collective environment. So, in many ways our experience of this month is determined by how well we respond to all aspects of our emotional reality and, by how well we manage the psychic interface between ourselves and the environment.

Expect then, more of the alchemical flux around the deconstruction/reconstruction cycles, which some are tempted, with some good reason, to call the death and rebirth cycle, with a contradictory and confusing mixture of optimistic and apocalyptic overtones. Whatever the case, we are still very much in the crucible of major tectonic change.

While the collective remains intense in the lead up to the next two eclipses, this month's chart is generally speaking one of the best that we've had in some time, with some marvellous Jupiter action throughout the month and peaking on the Boxing Day solar eclipse....

Looking at November’s chart, what is very clear is that this is going to be a magical, unpredictable and “witchy” month, with a great deal of somewhat contradictory layering of energy, represented by multiple planets and asteroids in both Scorpio and Sagittarius on top of the now tightening Capricorn convergence.

We are all being exposed to an intense double teaming by the dark and light forms of grace.
