August is going to be an intense, unpredictable and pressurised month, with its signature constellation the Mars/Kali/Uranus/North Node conjunction in Taurus, a potentially volatile and revolutionary dynamic for change.

It is exceptional in other ways, along with a certain potential for danger. Archetypally, it is a mixture of red-blooded warrior energy, a wild goddess for radical awakening and an agent for equally dramatic and liberating change. It is spiritually fantastic if it’s worked with well but also reeks of the potential for unleashing significant anger and rage.

This stellium, or multiple conjunction (or stallion if you like!) has fantastic support from the relationship goddesses Venus and Parvati in Cancer and, from Juno in Pisces, serving to soften some of the edges but also create a tremendous dynamic for relationship evolution.

Its potential for innovative and revolutionary change however, meets with significant obstacles, predominantly in the form of squares to the now exact Saturn/Shiva conjunction in Aquarius. Some of these obstacles are internal, in the form of negative and fearful voices that will tend to resist change. Some of those obstacles are real-life, hard, practical realities, like current wars, food and energy shortages, right and left wing conflicts.

Unfortunately, these resistances contribute to a tremendous build-up of pressure which could burst through like the actions of the volcano. For this reason, I’ve been telling people to work with any unresolved anger within themselves, avoid potentially dangerous situations or people, make sure your releasing internal pressure, whether through dynamic meditations, exercise or sex.

On another level, there is a great potential here for spiritual, creative and sexual awakenings, as well as the possibility of healing and releasing accumulated pain and anger if it’s done with the right practices and in safe settings.

This healing and releasing potential is accentuated by the fact that the Leo Sun is trining the benevolent Jupiter, doing the same with Chiron the Wounded Healer later in the month, while accessing the goddess of healing Hygeia.

So whatever stuff hits the fan at this time, know that the potential for real healing, real change and for greater individual freedom is equally close at hand.
