Fierce love and the week of June 14

The skies this week hold real complexity and genuine grace at the same time. We are coming through a period of collective spikes and still basking in the warm glow of Venus and Jupiter together. A Dark Moon begins the week, and mid-week brings a powerful encounter between Mars and Kali. This is fierce medicine. It is also purifying medicine. Every hard aspect has something healing right beside it. That is the shape of this week. We are being asked to feel everything and to trust that our inner resources are equal to the task. This Week’s Astrology (June 14th–20th)

We are just emerging from some major collective spikes while still held in the benevolent loving aura of the Venus Jupiter alignment. We won’t be feeling that initially though as we start the week in the Dark Phase of the Moon and, some of the sharp bits to come also have some positive healing consequences. As we will see, every challenging aspect also gets met by really good ones.

The Sun in Gemini is recovering from his meeting with the purificatory Black Moon and is now in at the midpoint of a flowing and tantric trine between Shiva and his consort Parvati the goddess of the sacred marriage, sending oxygenating sextiles to both. This speaks well for relationship healing and evolution and is also resonant with the Jupiter Venus combination.

A Gemini Moon is conjunct Uranus, Lilith, and Ceres, a volatile and disruptive combination emotionally but one that talks about the potential for significant breakthroughs in our efforts towards greater freedom, freedom from old patterns which include old karmas and all forms of carried rage. This collection receives some great aspects to the lubricating Neptune and the transformative Pluto.

Mercury in Cancer has a hard connection with Medusa, having another confrontation with the dark feminine but one that has great healing opportunities as he is also lined up with the healing goddess Hygeia whose energy has the power to purify even the darkest of inner toxins.

Our inner warrior Mars, still in Taurus, will meet with a much more ancient power in the middle of the week, that of Kali. Here is another potentially explosive combination but worked with well, can express as fierce warrior energy for cutting through BS, denial and unconsciousness. The two also have softening and healing support from Psyche and Hygeia in Cancer.

After shining her light and warmth on Cancer for the last month, Venus is now in the dynamic and expressive Leo, which sounds like a good excuse to throw an outrageous party so that we can all let off steam after so much collective intensity and insanity. Her expressiveness here is aided by sextiles to Uranus and Lilith, while her lovely, glowing eroticism is made liquid by a trine to Neptune.

Practice
Sit upright in a chair. Place both hands on your thighs, palms up. Inhale deeply for four counts. Hold for two. Exhale through an open mouth for six counts, releasing any sound that wants to come. Repeat eight times. After the final breath, rest your hands on your belly. Notice what is alive in you now.

Archetype Spotlight: 

Kali is the goddess who strips away what is false. She does not destroy for destruction’s sake. She destroys so that what is real can breathe. In the Hindu tantric tradition she stands on the body of Shiva, not in conquest, but as the active force of awakening. She represents the moment when the soul is finally done with its own avoidance.

Psychologically, Kali energy shows up as the inner force that can no longer pretend. The part of us that cuts through old stories with a kind of fierce love. When she arrives, she rarely asks permission. But she always leaves clarity in her wake.

This week, let her work with you rather than against you. If something inside you wants to finally say what is true, let it speak. The warrior energy of this moment is yours to use.
