Witches, mothers, and a dome of grace
Welcome Dear Ones,
This week brings a richness that asks something of you. The sky holds both turbulence and luminous grace. A witchy Moon, some ferocious mother energy, intelligence and shadow pressing each other hard. And over all of it, Venus and Jupiter glowing together in Cancer like a lamp left on for you.
The Experiential Astrology Workshops in Sydney this weekend are born of exactly this kind of week. When the sky is this alive, there is real medicine to be gathered in a room together. Come and work with what is moving.
This Week’s Astrology (June 7th – 13th)
A turbulent week, a witchy one, a number of Shiva Shakti alignments, supported by some deep ballast and, luminous cover from a visible Venus Jupiter conjunction.
A quicksilver Sun in Gemini gets some good grounding, quality spiritual support and practical capabilities from the awesome Shiva, Medusa, Saturn and Pallas Athena all still close together in Aries. Great connections between intelligence translating into creative action.
And he will need the support as he gets opposed by the great mother Black Moon who demands that he also interacts mindfully with his shadow and deeper unfelt emotional baggage. No skating over this one!
We have another Witchy Moon, on the cusp of Aquarius and Pisces crossing a perfect conjunction of Hekate on the visionary North Node, a calling to own our inner Witch/Medicine Woman as part of our collective future vision.
However, the latent magic that’s here is both exaggerated and destabilised by hard aspects to Lilith, Uranus, Sedna and Ceres tightly together in early Gemini. Emotional disturbances, disruptions to nurture, outbursts of rage, old and future karmas are all entangle like many snakes.
(Our Uranus Sedna live workshop on Sunday the 14th is an ideal place for working this territory!)
Mercury in Cancer, a mixing of mind and emotions, has good aspects to the practical Mars in Taurus but hard ones to Saturn and Pallas Athena in the more strident in Aries, with any sloppy thinking being hammered by the tough love Saturn, assisted by the sharp-tongued Pallas. Watch out for the inner critic being too hard on your thoughts and feelings.
Mars is working hard in Taurus while supporting any possibilities for material and mental manifestation. He is continuing his unusual relationship with the soul longing Psyche, which is a bit like having a love nymph whispering in his ear while he ploughs creative fields.
Venus conjunct Jupiter in Cancer, visibly together in the Australian night sky, where love, grace, abundance are all expanded in a Lakshmi-like combo, peaking on Wednesday. This has the feeling of creating a dome of benevolence around us that seeks to offer reassurance that despite the traumas around the planet, love survives.
(This is one of the drivers to Saturday’s experiential workshop in Sydney!)
The Shiva asteroid in Aries is forming a tidal Grand Trine in fire with the Black Moon in Sagittarius and Parvati in Leo. The Black Moon is the closest Western astrology has to the great mother Durga, who along with Parvati, is one of the wives of Shiva. No lack of Shakti in this dance of the divine, worth making some time to engage with!
However unstable we can weave some incredible medicine this week as well as bring down the Venus Jupiter into our hearts and relationships. Don’t miss the opportunities!

What part of me is ready to be called a Medicine Woman or Medicine Man? What holds that knowing back?
Practice
Stand barefoot if you can. Feel the soles of your feet on the ground. Breathe down through your spine and imagine roots moving into the earth beneath you. Say aloud, quietly, “I belong here.” Repeat it slowly three times. Stay with the resonance after the last word.

Archetype Spotlight:
Lakshmi is the goddess of grace, abundance, and love made visible. She does not hoard what she holds. She pours. She is the quality that arrives when the heart is genuinely open and the hands are not grasping.
Venus conjunct Jupiter in Cancer carries her frequency unmistakably this week. Something in the sky is offering what she offers: a warmth that does not require the world to be fixed first. Love as a field, not a reward.
The practice with Lakshmi is receiving. Not earning. Not managing. Where in your body can you actually let this week’s grace land? That is her door.
Experiential Astrology Workshops in Sydney this weekend
This weekend holds two distinct invitations.
The first is through Venus and Jupiter in Cancer: love and grace made visible, a dome of benevolence asking to be felt in the chest and belly, not just understood in the mind. The Saturday workshop works with this opening directly.
The second is through Uranus and Sedna coming together: stirring disruption, primal instinct, old and future karmas pressing for attention. Sunday’s workshop is the right container for this kind of alchemical material, where the body can be a site of transformation rather than just a place where tension lives.
Come for one day or both. Sydney, June 14 and 15.
