Handle the Heat, Trust the Hope

Welcome Dear Ones,

There is real heat under the surface this week. Mars in Gemini sits right on top of an unpredictable Uranian charge, and old anger or old wounding may want to erupt fast. The invitation is not to suppress it, but to move slowly and stay awake, especially around the weekend.

The good news is Jupiter is lighting up nearly every player in this week’s sky. He offers hope, wider perspective, and a reminder that this pressure is building toward something, not just breaking things down.

If the intensity feels like a lot to hold alone, a grounded, embodied reading can help you meet it with more steadiness and less spinning out.

This Week’s Astrology (July 5th – 11th)

Much of what was cooking last week, a curious mix of exalting, disruptive and volcanic powers interwoven with great healing potential. Some of those processes are just peeking now, while the slow movement of Jupiter and a stationary mercury our lengthening some processes that are normally passing quickly.

Like last week’s Full Moon the cancer Sun is still squaring Saturn in Aries, a terse struggle between emotional openness and fluidity with a stern, goal oriented and tough taskmaster. Expect initial obstacles within and without to produce some frustration, while the old tough love master tests our resilience and staying power.

Not all is lost emotionally though, as we start the week with the Sun trining the Moon in the highly fluid Pisces. And a witchy Moon at that as she spent the night with the witch Queen Hecate dreaming up some significant medicine. However both are in hard aspect to Mars which can reignite some very ancient conflicts.

Mercury is semi-stationary and slowly retrograding in Cancer and so is maintaining some great aspects including his conjunction with Psyche and Hygeia, two goddesses who elevate our capacity for love and healing in a tango that spins both lower and upper chakras. This is really worth working with through both spiritual and/or tantric practices.
On the shadow side Mercury still squares the fierce Medusa who can be even more volatile in Aries while catching up on Chiron the Wounded Healer. Alchemically, this is another healing opportunity as she is a serpent goddess who can both challenge and heal the wounded masculine, while he can pierce through her protective mask to awaken the deep Shakti and love that she can tend to hide.

Speaking of deep love Venus in Leo is in good aspect to the same Medusa and will not be afraid of testing a lover or speaking some hard truths, but will dive into deeply juicy love experiences if the setting is right. Later in the week Venus will join her older yogic sister and love guru in the form of Parvati, the goddess of the sacred marriage and wife of Shiva!

Mars in Gemini is sitting on top of the Uranian volcano, a potentially catastrophic teetering that can either fall well and positively in the direction of Jupiter or get drawn orgiastically into more tectonic eruptions. Avoid any form of risk-taking over this weekend, especially if you’ve got some anger or old wounding showing up, unless you get some clear, surgical, divine inspiration to leap into the
unknown. This is a transit that can break through or break open.

And finally the divine Jupiter with his larger aura of benevolence lights up in one way or another virtually all the above main players. He will call up our better angels, offer us hope, expanded thinking, positive expectations and insights into future developments. Things could be a lot worse without him.

Be grateful, humble and wise in response to this week’s paradoxes.

Daniel

Reflection + Embodiment

Journal
Where am I tempted to leap or lash out this week, and what would it look like to pause instead?

Practice
Stand tall. Take one deliberate step forward, pause, and feel your weight settle fully into the front foot before shifting your weight back. Repeat five times slowly. Let this be a practice in choosing your movement instead of reacting to the charge underneath it.

Archetype Spotlight:

Medusa is often remembered only for her curse, but she began as a guardian, a serpent priestess whose gaze could turn danger to stone. This week she moves through Aries with real bite, unwilling to let false comfort or avoidance pass unchallenged.

Psychologically, Medusa represents the parts of us that have learned to protect deep vulnerability with a fierce exterior. When Mercury squares her, old defenses can flare quickly, especially around things we would rather not look at directly.

The practical takeaway is not to fight her energy, but to let her show you exactly where your protection has calcified. Ask what she is guarding, and whether that armor still serves you.

Readings That Go Beneath the Surface

This week’s sky is layered with paradox, tenderness pressed against old defenses, hope threading through volatility. A grounded, embodied astrology reading offers a mirror for what is stirring beneath the surface, translating the pressure of these transits into clarity you can actually work with. If you are ready to meet this week’s currents with more steadiness, book a reading and let the archetypes speak directly to your life.
