November is going to be a very intense month and not just because it’s the Scorpio time of year. A normally brilliant and loving conjunction of Mercury, the Sun and Venus is lining up with the mysterious past life loaded South Node of the Moon, aspects that will tighten into the vortex of the Total Lunar Eclipse on the 8th. This alone will make this an emotionally, psychologically and karmically intense and tumultuous time.
The eclipse will also exaggerate the tension of the ongoing Saturn/Uranus square, in ways that are equally demanding. The combination will put us under a great deal of pressure and so it’s going to be even more important that we take care of ourselves, our hearts and our bodies during this time.
As always though, there are great gems and points of powerful light in this rather gloomy Astro weather. The eclipsing Sun and Moon on the Nodes also form a magnificent Grand Sextile incorporating five of the goddess asteroids. Within this constellation are two overlapping grand trines which formed the grand sextile, otherwise known as the Star of David.
Fortunately, even though he is part of the current pressure cooker, Saturn is now in forward motion while Jupiter has backtracked into Pisces, both significate turning points. Saturn will emerge from the Uranus square at the end of December, a noticeable lessening of collective tension and the beginning of a more obvious reconstruction phase. Jupiter will only spend two months back in Pisces, before returning to Aries in early January, another positive reflection of forward movement and getting better traction in our lives.
On a worldly level then, things will remain difficult in all the obvious areas for some time, especially financially and with ongoing tensions internationally. Even though there are great possibilities as the energies of great creative change are high but are temporarily frustrated. It’s important not to succumb to the temptation for push too hard as there is more than enough internal stress within most of us without adding to it with misguided ego drives. When a pressure cooker starts sending off high pressure steam, you don’t turn the gas up!
When the outside world is disagreeable and being driven by dynamics beyond our control, when eclipse threaten to shatter our plans and security, dig deeper within through spiritual practices. This coming eclipse is one of the toughest and most dangerous I’ve seen in a long time, but there is still grace, enormous love and creativity at its core. It also has great aspects that reflect alternative pathways compared to getting caught in the drama and stress of it all.
It is better to focus on self-care, to find some creative and energetic ways of releasing nervous, emotional and physical tension, while simplifying what you can, staying close to your own heart and to that of your loved ones.
The Wounded Healer Chiron in Aries is sextiling Shiva in Aquarius and trining the Kundalini goddess of healing Hygeia in Sagittarius, a brilliant mixture of healing power, air and fire. Use this line of energy by listening to your body and allowing it to express its truth physically and vocally. If you need to scream, go ahead and scream the house down, if you need to cry, howl like a wounded animal, if you need to rage, beat the shit out of a mattress with a tennis racket while making lots of sound. If you need to dance, or have sex until you drop, go for it! It is Scorpio time after all with bucket loads of Taurus.
And once you’ve had your release, then let yourself drop into rest, meditation or yoga to ease your nervous system out and find a deeper stillness. From this place, you can better look after yourself and be in the better place to support others.
Finally, Eros and Psyche are together, quietly bonding deeply within each of us, beneath the dramas, an enactment of one of the great mythic love stories. You can draw from that too.
Go well, take care, with love and blessings,
Daniel
