THIS MONTH’S ASTROLOGY
I’m writing this from my retreat in Broome WA where, as most of you will know, we just had an allegedly ex-cyclone called Ellie go stationary directly over us for three days and nights, dumping 800 mm of rain on us along with fierce winds up to 120km per hour. Fortunately for us, our base is up on a ridge and close to the ocean, meaning that we did not suffer the same flooding as those folk on the floodplain of the mighty Fitzroy River.
(My aboriginal family from camel trek days were evacuated though, rescued by the army as the floods were threatening to cut them off. They are all safe and well but did lose an unknown number of cattle.)
The house was built to withstand up to category three cyclones and at no time did I feel unsafe. I could not help but to contemplate what this event would mean astrologically and it was pretty clear that the Uranus Kali conjunction in Taurus had a lot to do with it, closely followed by Neptune and Shiva in Pisces, with assistance from sextiles to Pluto in Capricorn!
As for this month and, as expected, you will find that there is much more dynamism in this month’s chart befitting that this is the month for Aquarius to shine. You will find that we have many great aspects between the fire and air signs, alongside some exceptional conjunctions spiritually and around the theme of ongoing relationship healing and evolution. Of course, the month will not be without its necessary challenges and bumps, but there is most definitely a feeling of more forward moving energy opening up.
Go well, with love and blessings,
Daniel

Aquarius is such an interesting part of ourselves, with all its trademark mental and spiritual dynamism, eclectic thinking patterns and heightened expressions of individual uniqueness. When the sun goes into the sign there is often an outburst of creative and enterprising spirit, a breath of fresh air and innovative, even entrepreneurial thinking, alongside abundant signals for potential change.
This month seems to have elements of all that; with trines and sextiles to other air and fire signs plus the radicalising squares to Uranus and Kali who are still very tight in Taurus.
These alone point to a dynamic month, with the Sun in a Grand Trine to Mars in Gemini and Ceres in Libra, combining creative thoughts with physical action and manifestation, while being well toned emotionally by the creative and nurturing qualities of the earth mother Ceres.
The Sun is also sextiling the exceptional Jupiter/Juno conjunction in Aries that peaked early last week and, which is now closing in on Chiron to form an increasingly expansive and powerfully healing conjunction. The prime focuses of this include evolutionary and healing shifts in our key relationships, freeing ourselves of what can be called “marriage conditioning” absorbed from our parents, and for creating greater integration between our needs for individual freedom and for high quality evolving relationship. This fabulous line up also receives good aspects from Mars while it builds in both the intensity and grace during the course of the month.
Watch out for my online Jupiter Chiron experiential workshop on March 11th!

Starting out in the earthy sign of the Goat, this planet of the mind will go into Aquarius on the evening of the 11th.
In the meantime, he is now once again conjuncting the healing goddess Hygeia, who brings her own version of healing and sexual magic to the way we use language, to the creativity of our thoughts and to where our mind chooses to dwell on. Her form of sacred eroticism is very beautiful, alluring and juicy, and gives Mercury far more depth and resonance with the feminine.

Traditionally Venus is exalted in Pisces and her transits through the sign brings out some exquisite expressions of this goddess of love that stretch into the realms of the mystical, unconditional and transcendent levels of expression. More worldly though, her boundaries can simultaneously be rather thin and adaptive in relationship to other humans.
She has a square to Mars in Gemini, which can be a recipe for some conflict with her male consort, or at least their different needs working at cross purposes with each other. While Mars can be rather flighty in the sign, Venus in Pisces longs for deeply emotional and even mystical connection with a partner. She can be easily wounded by insensitivity and excessive rationality in others.

How it plays out individually has much to do with how much we’ve been able to unravel of the patriarchal influences of Saturn and how much we’ve been able to soften and get past Medusa’s enraged mask.
Medusa will challenge Saturn around his relationship to the feminine and his capacity to acknowledge and honour the wisdom, intelligence and potency of the deep goddess layers of self. In turn, whenever Saturn conjuncts any archetype, he demands that we get to know that part of self more deeply, its gifts and its shadow, and take responsibility for working with both.

Spiritually this is an absolutely awesome conjunction and a great support for committed spiritual practitioners. It combines a god of tantra, meditation and transformation with an earth priestess and the planet of mysticism, dissolution and psychospiritual openings, in the oceanic realms of Pisces.
It adds the masculine potency Shiva, who can alternate between the perfect yogi and the wild Dionysian mystic, to a goddess of supreme psychic autonomy is specialises in the concentration of power, with the Shiva like aspects of Neptune who dissolves the mental and ego structures that keep us separate from our deeper selves and our relationship to the cosmos.
Join us for our Shiva Jupiter Mini-Workshop on Zoom Saturday Feb 25th to make the most of this and other transits. Or get your own copy of my Shiva Meditation.
Go well with all of this increasing vitality and volatility!
Daniel
