THIS MONTH’S & THIS YEAR’S ASTROLOGY

The major themes in the chart, as seen from the Uluru on midnight of the first, are healing, relationship evolution and transformation, the reorganisation of our brains and the potential for cultural/material revolution.

Like the recent new moon, the Capricorn Sun is conjunct the kundalini goddess of healing Hygeia and now the healing potential represented by her is heightened, expanded and exaggerated by the sun now aspecting Chiron the wounded healer and Hekate, the witch Queen/medicine woman. So this is indeed auspicious that the Capricorn Sun, who is very much in rebuilding mode is directly connected to 3 great healing agents.

Some of that healing will come as pure obvious grace, in the form of exquisite openings, while others demand that we face our wounded parts so that we may dive through them, and others have us wading through the slipperiness of our shadows to rediscover rejected parts of ourselves.

Much of this is reflected by three great conjunctions, each powerfully connected to the other; Mercury and Venus conjunct Pluto in Capricorn, Juno conjunct Jupiter and Neptune on the cusp of Pisces and Aries, and the Black Moon conjunct Pallas Athena in Cancer opposing Mercury, Venus and Pluto.

Mercury conjunct Pluto speaks of deep structural in the way we think, in our relationships between conscious and unconscious parts of ourselves with the goal of allowing us to penetrate more deeply into our own knowing, wisdom and mental potency. This increasing depth includes better communications between hemispheres in our brains, thanks to Mercury’s sextile to Neptune in Pisces.

His conjunction to Venus is an ongoing one that brings our conscious attention to our creativity, our sexuality and our love relationships, all of which are going through their own deep changes. Venus conjunct Pluto similarly speaks of relationship transformation and empowerment, including the dismantling of defensive fears around love and sexuality, and the nailing of deeper relationship truths, whether about our own capacity to give and receive love or, about the deeper status of our love relationships. Pluto demands we get to the raw truth of things so that real authentic change can happen. And in those relationships that are available to such change, there are some magnificent places of real connection to be unveiled.

Working parallel with Pluto, Neptune brings another quality to our relationship development in a conjunction with Juno, the traditional goddess of marriage, and who’s consort Jupiter is close by. Neptunian transformation is about dissolving old barriers and resistances around our hearts, while opening us up psychically and spiritually to the longing for soul level connections. In some ways we’ll see, and hopefully feel, the consequences of this when Juno and Jupiter go exact on January 23 and 24th!

The third conjunction, the Black Moon and Pallas connection, speaks of similar processes to that of Pluto, in the combination of deep purification, of burning through some old karmas and, the kind of empowering transformation comes when we are connecting more deeply with our primal emotions and the sacred feminine within ourselves.

The fact that these two are directly opposite Pluto, along with Venus and Mercury, adds even more intensity to our own personal processes, while unfortunately on a collective level speaks of the ongoing traumas around the globe at this time.

Fortunately, Jupiter, Juno and Neptune send great aspects to both ends of the Black Moon/Pluto opposition, meaning that even in the darkness, there are agencies of tremendous grace, ones that positively lubricates the wheels of change, as well as the releasing of old traumas. Again, this supports the healing credentials of this month and this year.

As for Jupiter, it is just gone back into Aries, a sign that gives his benevolent, optimistic and encouraging energies more space to express more openly in the world. This is one of a number of indications that talk about ask getting greater traction and forward movement in 2023.

Another of these is the fact that Saturn, still in Aquarius, has moved away from his ongoing and stressful square with Uranus, so he has more room for movement on a material and worldly level, where he is very supportive of rebuilding after so much deconstruction in the last years.

Even Mars, who has been retrograding for months now, a situation that’s been very confusing, frustrating and disheartening, is turning around into forward motion this month, with great support from Chiron in Aries who has also just gone forward motion too. Our inner male warriors, and healers, will have a lot more energy available for getting on in the world.

Go well with all of this, watch for the new seeds of change and put yourself in the best place to move forward with greater confidence and balance.

With love and blessings,

Daniel
