THIS MONTH’S ASTROLOGY

Aquarius is going to be hyper-charged this month, not just because the great Pluto has entered the sign, but because his ruling planet Uranus is lighting up so much of the chart and contributing to a number of grand trines, one of the best of astrology’s multi-configurations.

Part wizard, part revolutionary, radical disruptor, dynamic change agents, intellectual and spiritual awakener and, bomb throwing anarchist, he is a master of breaking up old patterns, limiting beliefs systems, stagnant situations and overly rigid Saturnian structures.

As a higher octave and grandfather of Jupiter, he also shares certain qualities with the Shiva asteroid, particularly around our access to higher consciousness, altered spiritual states and the movement of Kundalini.

So, we can expect a variety of experiences that can both destabilise us and lift us into more exalted levels of freedom and consciousness. At the very least it’s going to be an interesting time for us!

Pluto now in Aquarius!

This deep earth deity of death and rebirth, transformation and empowerment left Capricorn after a short retrograde on January 21st and apart from another brief retrograde back into Capricorn from September to November, he will be in the sign of the Water Bearer for the next 20 years. The Aquarian part of ourselves will be profoundly changed during this period, as will the House or Houses that the sign inhabits in our individual charts.

There is a lot out there on social media about what this means for us so I’m not going to regurgitate all the possibilities of this transit, except to say that Pluto will seek to draw Aquarius more fully down to earth, into relationship with our physical and emotional selves, to ground the signs exalted energies and to dramatically empower its awesome capacity for creativity, innovation and collective change.

A lot will be happening around improving our relationship between upper and lower chakras, and for linking exalted intellectual and spiritual energies with deep emotional intelligence, psychological acuity and primal potency.

On a global scale, we can expect deeper and ever quickening rates of change and we will be given even greater capacities to potentially save us as a civilisation!

Our experiential workshop on the 21st revealed some interesting things about the Pluto archetype. As expected, Pluto is actually both deep masculine and feminine energy and while s/he is a tough initiator of deep change, it comes from a deeper base of great love. And unexpectedly Pluto showed that s/he is not without a sense of humour or even joy, being very excited about having the spaciousness of Aquarius to be able to exercise greater creative freedom.

This is just another example of how experiential astrology challenges any astro-orthodoxy and limited beliefs about even the toughest of archetypes.

Sun in Aquarius square to Jupiter in Taurus, Kali in Scorpio, trining Medusa in Gemini and sextile in Chiron in Aries.

This is a very dynamic mix linking some very expansive energies, with mixed connections to two Dark Goddesses, while aligning with a very important Chiron transit, that we will talk about below. The square to Jupiter was exact four days before the start of the month but is still energetically present and even though this is a square aspect, Aquarius and Jupiter have a lot of creative expansion and mutual stimulation about them.

While the trine to Medusa shines a light on this much maligned goddess, the square to Kali who is particularly intense in Scorpio who will respond badly to any of Aquarius spiritual or intellectual arrogance. She will teach him some important lessons about the emotional consequences of his words!

Chiron conjunct North node in Aries, Shiva conjunct South Node in Libra.

This is probably the most important line up in February, especially for anyone on the healing, therapeutic and spiritual journey. The North node of the Moon only lines up with the Wounded Healer once in every 18 years, while Shiva on the South Node comes every four years. And together they represent a major thread around the healing of the masculine, as well as awakening the healing power of the masculine.

Shiva on the South Node, supported by the Libran Moon, opens the portals to our individual and collective past life history around this powerful god of yoga, tantra and transformation (or any cultural equivalents to this part of the inner masculine). These openings give us access to the many gifts of the archetype as well as its shadow expressions.

Chiron on the North Node in Aries describes the healing of our fire energy, our passion and courageous individualism, with the possibility of releasing the wounded and wounding masculine in ourselves. This can uncover the authentic healing masculine represented by this awesome healer, teacher, shaman and foster parent.

What is additionally significant about this whole lineup is that, it is not just about the here and now healing that we do. As the Wounded Healer releases the sacred power of the masculine, it will open us up to greater clarity about our individual futures and about how this part of self wants to contribute to our soul purposes.

(This will directly effect the aspects of our lives represented by whatever House this middle part of the Aries sits in our birthcharts.)

For all these reasons, I am offering three workshops to work directly and experientially with these great masculine archetypes wrapped around the Nodes of the Moon.

– An online workshop on February 10th.

– A live in person experiential workshop on Sunday, February 18th in Katoomba in NSW.

– And, a follow-up live in person workshop in Yallingup WA Sunday, April 24th.

Venus conjunct Psyche and Parvati in Capricorn, sextile in Kali in Scorpio, trining Black Moon in Virgo, sextile in Hygeia in Pisces

At the start of the month, Venus is just leaving a beautiful trine to the benevolent Jupiter, which sets the stage for one of the most exquisite line ups of the goddesses of love, soul unions and the sacred marriage, a multiple conjunction which will colour the first half of the month.

The Goddess Psyche is a higher octaves of Venus (and mythologically a daughter-in-law!) who represents the longing in our hearts and our psyches for elevated soul to soul union. She can be seen as a bridge between Venus and Neptune and can allow for experiences of love that are transcendent, unconditional and ecstatic.

Parvati is the Indian goddess of the sacred marriage and the ultimate wife of Shiva. A yogini queen, and a higher octave of the marriage goddess Juno, she is deeply, ecstatically loving, spiritually and sexually potent and totally committed to the creation of evolutionary relationship.

This three-way union will tighten around the 9th to the 12th of the month, to create a dynamic grand trine with Uranus in Taurus and Juno in Virgo, one that adds even more voltage to the growth-full possibilities of this time.

Their coming together represents an auspicious time for healing and uplifting our relationship lives, while diving into the earthy and sensual aspects of our sacred sexuality.

Mercury conjunct Mars in Capricorn trine Uranus in Taurus and Juno in Virgo, sextiling Neptune in Pisces and Pallas Athena in Scorpio

Mercury and Mars are at their disciplined best in Capricorn as the earth sign both grounds these two vital energies and makes them more effective in expressing and creating in the world. And there is no time for boredom here either as they are part of another dynamic Grand Trine (and in fact a Kite if you include Neptune) with the innovative sky god Uranus and the queenly consort of Jupiter.

Mercury trining Uranus activates more of the creative brilliance of our intellects, lifts asked beyond the gross material world and plies Mercury with a smorgasbord of heightened perceptions, innovative visions and eclectic opportunities for a more awake life.

Mars trining Uranus adds physical dynamism and muscular grunt to Mercury’s thinking processes, with a greater drive for how to physically manifest the creative opportunities that present themselves at this time. On a day-to-day level it also encourages us to do things differently, to try out different approaches and to experiment with different aspects of our lives.

Thanks to the presence of Juno, this is not just a gathering of the boys club playing around and blowing up stuff, however exalted, as she brings in a healthy realism of the wise feminine, while suggesting that there might be some great relationship benefits if they are prepared to engage the feminine respectfully.

Enjoy!

With love and Blessings,

Daniel
