THIS MONTH’S ASTROLOGY

After moving in unison since mid-May the Sun and Venus, a most loving of combination, are now separating as a goddess of love moves ahead to join Leo on the ninth. While in Cancer the two have doubly emphasised the maternal sides of our nature, the need to take good care of, and to be loving, of ourselves and our families. And to be that much more embedded in our emotional selves as our solar energy has been lovingly modified and softened during this period.
This emphasis on self-care can’t come at a better time as we all need to be more conscious of not just our emotional needs but to our subtler psychic sensitivities, as everybody on the planet is being subjected to some intense processes of personal and collective purification. (As we will see below In the Black Moon/Neptune Opposition) The need to take better care of ourselves is quite critical to our well-being this month.

This describes a complex cross-section of emotional energies, emotionally based challenges and opportunities through the course of the month. In conjuncting the healing goddess Hygeia the Moon reflects a heightened availability of the sacred feminine in all her healing and purificatory power, coupled with deep empathy and compassion. As a goddess of love, beauty and sacred sexuality, her conjunction in the deeply sensual and fertile energies of Taurus is a profoundly erotic joining. This alone describes the month as potentially a deeply healing one, which includes the possibility of significant sexual and relationship healing
More challenging though is the square from the Moon to the transformative Pluto, with the emotionally conservative and security conscious Taurus Moon threatened with deep and radical change outside its control. Such squares describe an intense psychic-emotional alchemy, one that eventually leads to greater emotional depth and freedom but also one that creates a great deal of emotional turmoil and discomfort in the process.

As with the Moon, Mercury is in a head-on challenge with Pluto, in a demand for deep change in the ways that we think, in what we believe in, in ways that force us to become more psychologically aware, less resistant and intellectually rigid and more capable of facing our own shadow areas. The oppositions also have a reputation for setting up power struggles with significant others, which again tests the validity of our thinking, while offering opportunities to stand up to bullies and those who want to control us.
On the other end of the spectrum, Mercury sexting Uranus is like an intellectual version of firecracker night, where our thinking is gifted with greater dexterity, heightened awareness and an almost Aquarian quality of innovative and creative brilliance. It offers an ability to be able to see situations from unconventional and surprising perspectives that can offer circuit breakers in any mental or creative ventures. In the old astrological textbooks they talk about Uranus as a vehicle for reaching the Higher Mind or the mind of God!
The trine to Neptune simultaneously stretches our conscious minds into the more emotionally and psychically fluid energies of the mystic and creatrix within ourselves, giving access to heightened and refined intuitive and psychic perception. While Uranus is like a lightning bolt across the sky, Neptune operates more subtly, enhancing our awareness of unity consciousness, of the mystical substratum of life inherent in all phenomena.
At the very least this is going to be an interesting time for all of us. It is also a brilliant time for combining deep therapeutic exploration with quality spiritual and creative practices.

As the foundational couple of our love and sexual relationships, Venus and Mars sextiling each other, linking the mutually supportive energies of Taurus and Cancer, is a positive mixture of loving, sensual and erotic energies. The sextile is not a super strong aspect but the fact that both have good aspects to Saturn gives the connection between them strength, durability and earthy realism. Positive Saturn aspects are a stabilising influence on our relationships, which is another plus during a period of deeper psychic turbulence.
Both Venus and Mars have good aspects to Juno, the traditional goddess of marriage and committed relationship, a situation that can quietly but powerfully support the evolution of a relationship towards greater depth and maturity. However, while Venus and Mars are beautifully balanced by various support from Saturn and Juno, two maturing influences, the latter are in opposition to each other. This can brew up unresolved and deconstructed conditioning around relationship from patriarchal sources and/or conservative approaches stemming from older style marriages.
On a here and now level, this opposition also suggests that this is an important time to review our primary relationships, to identify what might be in the way of further development and growth, as well as having significant conversations about where a relationship might be heading.

Jupiter sextile in North Node also means that he is trining the South Node in Libra. The latter trine can allow us to draw from the wisdom of experience, which includes gifts and abilities, from our past life records, in order to move on from the past and its more difficult karmas.
In sextiling the North Node, Jupiter brings his expansive and visionary qualities to this soul visionary Node, gifting a level of optimism that can counterbalance some of the dark processes that are afoot at the moment. These two aspects are great for doing some past life regression (which you can do with me by way!) and any processes around visioning, goalsetting and projecting forward in time.

The wise old patriarch is now perfectly stationary at 19° 26 minutes of Pisces and is turning around to retrograde back into the sign before going forward motion again in mid-November at 13°of the sign. We’ve already seen how he is sextiling Mars, trining Venus, opposing Juno, trining Pallas Athena and sextiling Ceres.
If you have any planets or asteroids between 17 and 21° of any sign, you’ll be getting an aspect from Saturn and, because he is moving very slowly you will geta a much longer transit than normal. Normally Saturn transits last around a month but if you have anything at 19° exactly you will be getting two months of attention from him.
If you haven’t already gathered this awareness, those transits can go either way and usually a bit of both, alternating between positive support and difficult challenges. His job is to show up our weak spots, our undeveloped places and any immaturity that diminishes our creative effectiveness in life. He then expects us to take absolute responsibility for doing whatever needs to be done to heal and repair. In those areas where we are on track with our authentic self and our own innate wisdom, he comes in as great support in the translation of our ideas and visions into physical form. May he spread his wisdom to all of us!

I hope you seen my posts on Facebook and Instagram about this particularly difficult transit, one which nevertheless offers great opportunities for the spiritual warriors in us.
Both planets act as great psychic flushing agents, with the Black Moon in particular being a demanding goddess of purification, of slicing away self-limiting ego structures and for living closer to our deepest emotions as well as our deeper truths.
These two have created a massive vomitus purging on collective and personal levels, that is currently flooding the psychic environment around the planet. So, if you’ve been feeling all at sea, buffeted by unseen forces that diminish clarity or throw you off track, feeling psychically over-whelmed, nauseous or generally off in your body and in your emotions, you are in this swamp.
Both energies demand a great deal of surrender from us, of dropping stressful ego drives, taking better care of ourselves, our emotions our bodies and our sensitivity, and doing whatever therapeutic and spiritual processes support the releasing of old toxins and unhealed energies. Both are deeply mystical energies as well, with invitations to open up psychically and spiritually, supported by regular meditation, which includes work on reclaiming the deep sacred feminine within ourselves and in our culture.
