This Week’s Astrology (April 12-18th)

This week has a weird, witchy, wounded and wobbly start.

An Aquarian Moon conjuncts the Witch Queen Hekate and in the Australian chart on Sunday morning, one that is directly overhead at Uluru.

You can bet that the old medicine women in the communities (some of whom I have had the privilege and pleasure of meeting) around this spiritual centre of the continent will be well tuned in, working with their ceremonial magic for the benefit of clan and country.

Weird because Mars, now in his home territory of Aries, immediately crosses Neptune, the antithesis of his fiery masculine as the latter confuses clarity and diffuses the effectiveness of his drive to express in the world. This is bound to add more delusional behaviour on the world stage and more wobbling economically.

Mercury starts brilliantly with an exact line-up with Pallas Athena but then does the same when he goes into Aries on Thursday, with Neptunian-infused thought not the greatest for clear decision-making but much better for inner exploration, meditation and right brain creativity.

Wounded? Yes, potentially wounding and potentially healing, those seemingly contradictory expressions of both Kali and Chiron who are going to be crossed by the Aries Sun on Tuesday and Thursday respectively. This will test us all around how easily triggered we might be, as there will be significant rage around as we get confronted with unhealed parts of our Aries self and all its individualistic passion. Be careful on those days.

Venus gets the best connections this week. From mid-Taurus she gets three days of sextiles to Jupiter in Cancer, along with sextiles to Vesta, Shiva and Medusa in Pisces. There is no lack of grace, depth and tantric potency in this combination should we choose to access it.

There is one significant challenge for Venus, an exact square to Hekate. On one level this can invoke the juicy Sex Witch but we can also get a confronting look into the shadowy, manipulative and complex defensiveness of an archetype that has been hiding, necessarily so, for many hundreds of years. And, how that “Witch Wound” may be diminishing our receptivity to love and grace.

With all the support from the sextiles, especially that from Jupiter, we can use this time to love our inner witch, help her heal and bring her home.
