Something rare is happening this week. Uranus enters Gemini, beginning a seven-year era of accelerated change in how we think, communicate, and awaken. The Leo moon crackles with Kali’s fire, Mercury aligns with Persephone in her underworld wisdom, and Venus continues her slow education in deeper love. The body often feels these shifts before the mind catches up. Let yourself be moved. This Week’s Astrology (April 26 – May 2nd)

We start this week with a wild moon in Leo squaring the unpredictable Uranus and trining the fierce ego- lacerating Kali, producing more external and internal chaos, with high potential for ruptures and, for cutting through BS that hides the raw truths of things. There is also potential for spiritual fireworks as both are agents of dramatic awakening and movement of the sacred power Kundalini!

The normally placid Sun in Taurus is conjuncting Lilith in the next days, another dynamic feminist warrior, while caught in a major power struggle with the relationship transformer conjunction of Pluto and Juno. There is great tension in this that can be equally explosive but once again we will be privy to ancient psychological forces that can either sabotage our relationship lives or transform them if worked with.

Mercury has moved away from the forthright and often aggressive Mars in Aries to line up exactly with the Queen of the Underworld Persephone, another transformer who will not let either the mind or our superficial egos get away with escapism. She will often force us into some form of confrontation with our shadows, while offering initiations into greater layers of psychospiritual knowledge, both processes supported by a deep flowing aspect to the great mother Black Moon, who in Sagittarius is very much in her wild Kali-like form.

Fortunately Mercury and Persephone have expansive aspects to Jupiter in Cancer who lubricates the wheels of deep change and healing while expanding our mindsets even in the darkest of territory. He can keep our spirits buoyant at times like this as long as we don’t fall into his shadows, that of arrogance and hubris.

While there is a fair amount of murky rage around in the collective, our inner male warrior Mars is being released by the restrictive Saturn into some free open space in Aries while forming a free-flowing energy line with the same Black Moon, a reasonably rare opportunity for aligning one’s will with the power of the great mother to facilitate inner and outer growth.

Once again Venus, now in Gemini, get some great aspects, this week to the mystical Neptune, to the goddess Parvati and more importantly, to the Pluto/Juno conjunction. This is an essentially positive three-way alignment for relationship evolution, especially after many weeks of ongoing challenges to our inner templates for what constitutes quality connections.
It is also an opportunity for the relatively young Venus to link up and learn from two more mature and powerful relationship goddesses. who seek to embody quality relationships based on mutual respect, equality and greater masculine/feminine balances.

Later today, the radical change agent and psychospiritual liberator Uranus starts a seven-year journey through the sign Gemini. This once in every 80 year event is going to escalate the already extreme pace of technological development outwardly while, along with the oceanic goddess Sedna, speaks of dramatic spiritual development and breakthroughs in human consciousness.

Practice
Stand barefoot if you can. Shake your hands loosely from the wrists. Let the movement travel up the arms and into the shoulders. Now let the whole body join gently, knees soft, jaw loose. Shake for two minutes. Then stop completely. Place one hand on the heart and breathe slowly for one minute. Notice what has settled and what remains alive.

Archetype Spotlight: 

Sedna is the great oceanic goddess of the Arctic, the one who sank to the bottom and became the source. Her story is one of betrayal, surrender, and the alchemical power of the deep. She does not rage from the surface. She transforms from the depths.

Psychologically, Sedna governs the psychospiritual dimensions of our evolution, the layers of consciousness that are not reached by effort or analysis but only through a quality of surrender and oceanic presence. When she is active, linear time softens. Something older stirs.

This week, with Uranus entering Gemini alongside Sedna’s long influence, we are being touched by forces that do not operate on a human schedule. Let yourself be a little more porous. The breakthroughs that matter most right now will come through stillness and receptivity, not strategy.
