The underworld is calling. Are you ready?

Welcome Dear Ones,

After months of grinding pressure and collective intensity, this week the sky opens a window. Jupiter is receiving aspects from the Sun, the Moon and Mercury all at once, and he brings the kind of generous light that makes it easier to breathe, think clearly and feel hopeful. This does not mean the deeper work is done. But it means you have better conditions to do it. Jupiter always ensures we grow from what we walk through.

This is a good week to tend your inner life with intention. April also brings something practical to support that tending. We are offering a 20 percent discount on personal astrology readings until April 14th, a chance to sit with the stars and with Daniel one to one. Details are below.

This Week’s Astrology (April 5th – 11th)

This week is looking much better than any in the previous months, with the Aries Sun, a Scorpio Moon and Mercury in Pisces all aspecting the benevolent, expansive Jupiter. This doesn’t mean that the deeper karmic, geopolitical and psychological processes will suddenly get better, but it will put us in a better place to move well with the necessities of this time. Jupiter always ensures that we learn greatly from our experiences.

It also helps that Jupiter is in perfect alignment with Eros, another energy that when he is working well, lifts our spirits, opens our hearts and gives us access to joy and playfulness..

Sun in Aries is still in good aspect with the Witch Queen Hekate, giving her skills and knowledge a more forthright and proactive quality for those who are connected with this goddess within.

The Sun’s square to Jupiter and Eros generates a great deal of passion and dynamism that can be used well, as long as the combination doesn’t slip into hedonism and other forms of excess.

The Scorpio Moon creates a terrific grand trine , a fluid three-way flow with the Jupiter/Eros in one corner and with Mercury, Medusa and Shiva in another. This describes potential harmonisation between mind and emotions, a lifting of the quality of our perceptions and communications while positively energising the psychospiritual power of and knowledge inherent in Medusa’s ongoing tango with Shiva.

Mars is in his last days in Pisces and will go into Aries on Thursday, another great indicator of being able to create more momentum in our ability to build, and recreate in our personal worlds after so much dissolution.

But before he makes that transition, he will sextile the dynamic change agent Uranus and trines Parvati, the Yogini Goddess of the Sacred marriage in the next four days, curious juggling of individualism and the drive towards quality connection.

As for Venus currently in Taurus, she is locking horns with Pluto in Aquarius, her longing for simplicity, pleasure and sensual connection resisting a greater power demanding relationship transformation. This can often play out in power struggles with significant others or at the very least, a testing of the power balances , or imbalances, in our close relationships.

Venus then joins the earth mother goddess Ceres on Tuesday which feels like a love-in compared to the above and one that reminds us of the importance of self nurture, and the need for security and safety. This will contribute greatly to any necessary repair work after any relationship conflict and, for coping with the current levels of collective trauma and destruction around the planet.

The latter includes a building volcano involving the Kaali and Lilith asteroids conjuncting Chiron in Aries, all of whom are sitting on the goddess of radical disruption Eris. While there are great healing opportunities here around both wounded masculine and feminine energies, it can also represent another round of dangerous escalation globally.

Take care with all of this and call upon the current availability of Jupiter energy for support if and when it gets tough.

This can also include doing some astrological and therapeutic work with me.

Reflection + Embodiment

Journal
Eros and Jupiter together are asking me about joy. When did I last feel genuinely playful or lit up? What gets in the way of that, and what is one small thing I could do this week to invite it back?

Practice
Choose one moment today, even a brief one, to bring full sensory attention to something pleasurable. It might be the warmth of a cup of tea, a few minutes in sunlight, or music you love. Let yourself be present to it without rushing. Notice if your nervous system softens. This is Eros and Jupiter at their simplest and most healing.

Archetype Spotlight:

Eros is more than the mythology of romantic longing. He is the animating force that moves through all of life when we allow ourselves to be genuinely alive to it. His presence in the chart alongside Jupiter this week is not an invitation into distraction. It is an invitation into contact, with beauty, with meaning, with other people, with the parts of ourselves we have kept at a careful distance.

Psychologically, Eros represents the capacity for aliveness. When he is suppressed, life can feel mechanical, dutiful, grey. When he is honoured, even ordinary moments carry charge and colour. This week his energy is available and generous.

One practical step: notice where in your life you are going through the motions and ask what would have to shift for genuine engagement to become possible there. Let that question sit. Eros does not force. He invites.
