Eclipse week, steady your centre

Welcome Dear Ones

We are entering one of those weeks where the universe edits our plans in real time. The eclipse corridor can bring strange turns, abrupt awakenings, and sudden releases. Some will experience breakthroughs. Others will be asked to stop, to listen, and to get honest about what is no longer tolerable. Either way, keep your grounding practices close. Stay mindful with crowds, conflict, and impulsive choices, especially early in the week.

For those who want support holding both vision and uncertainty, I am offering my Saturn and Neptune conjunction workshop. It is a grounded way to stay aligned when the outer world feels unpredictable.

We are in for an additionally wild ride this week, with a radical eclipse on the 17th, two constellations of ancient power and rage, and with Saturn and Neptune coming exactly together, harried by two fierce dark goddesses.

More graciously, we have an exquisite lineup of Venus and Pallas Athena on the North Node of the Moon in Pisces, while the benevolent Jupiter in Cancer forms good aspects to Mercury in Pisces and his consort Juno in Capricorn, all indicative of some positive movement on the relationship front in the midst of the above psychic storm.

The Sun has his last days in Aquarius, positively aspecting the two healers Chiron in Aries and Hygeia in Gemini, highlighting the healing potentials of the week, particularly those practices that engaged both body and mind.

We start the week with a witchy Moon, with her conjuncting Hekate, the witch Queen and medicine woman, in Capricorn, while trining the wizard-like aspect of Uranus in Taurus.

The above looks good including for spiritual, ceremonial and magic-making practices. But then things quickly go downhill, as the Moon enters her dark moon phase; expect lots of internal, alchemical brewing and strange energy movements as the old gets released.

On Monday night, the Sun squares Uranus in Taurus in his radical, unpredictable form in the buildup, as the Moon joins him, to a total solar eclipse that hyper charges the same free radical on Tuesday night. This is potentially an explosive, even dangerous situation. It is not a good night for going out, so  keep an eye on your inner and outer teenagers and avoid crowds, potentially dangerous situations, even driving!

At the very least, expect the unexpected and having the universe throw some spanners into carefully made plans in the days around the eclipse. Uranus can also be a great awakener and for those on the spiritual and healing paths, breakthrough experiences are possible, while others will courageously jump out of intolerable situations and relationships. 

Mars conjunct Medusa and Shiva in Aquarius is another place of big power surges which around the eclipse can go either way on the destructive/empowering spectrum. This includes deep and ancient forms of rage, vengefulness and bitterness that seek releasing, so if you start cooking internally use breath, voice, dance and movement in support. Tweak the pressure valves in whatever way you can.

Saturn and Neptune are now both in Aries, doing their last turbulent and destabilising tango, that can feel like psychic seasickness in our bellies. This re-entry into the fiery Aries is complicated by both Lilith and Kali, a fierce and feminist couple who want to cut through the BS of both the patriarchy, and of spiritual bypassing.

It’s not all drama though; the exquisite Venus in Pisces is joined by the businesswoman-like Pallas Athena who offers some grounding and healthy realism to the hyper-romanticism of this goddess of love position. On the North Node, they offer a vision of a relationship future that balances intimacy with good clean boundaries and individual autonomy.

And underneath all of the above, Jupiter in Cancer supports our efforts to be kind of nurturing to ourselves and others at a time of great collective stress. He also supports the venusian vision above alongside our personal evolution.

• What is the cleanest way to move it without harming myself or anyone else?
  (Look to your Aquarius and Aries houses and placements.)

Practice

1. Put one hand on your belly, one hand on your ribs.
2. Inhale through the nose for 4 counts.
3. Exhale with sound, a hum, a sigh, or a low tone, for 6 to 8 counts.
4. Do 10 rounds.
5. Then shake out your arms and legs for 60 seconds and let the heat move through.
6. Finish the practice by standing with feet grounded, feeling the steadiness of the Earth supporting you and take 3 deep breaths to transition back to stillness.
