This line-up was the subject of the Soul Purposes workshop in Perth on the 12th and 13th of March and out of this experiential work there were a number of repetitive themes, befitting the symbolism of that first eclipse. Some of these are
- The need to cut cords with significant others that include negative wounded healer patterns i.e. feeling guilty or responsible for other people’s pain, acting as a psychic sponge for the same, having others needs override one’s own and being excessively entangled psychically in other people’s dramas and issues.
- The right to reclaim your own psychic space, to expand the aura of psychic space around your physical body without having that invaded by other people’s energy.
- The need to flush out all psychic emotional residues from significant others, family members and generational influences.
- To pierce through past life trauma and misuse of power issues in order to reclaim healing gifts and reservoirs of sacred knowledge gathered over many lifetimes and bought into this one.
- As we work with the above, then we are more able to step towards our own unique soul purposes, more fully equipped with knowledge and skills and with greater clarity about those purposes.
- The reclamation of those exquisitely sensitive places within that inform our spirituality, psychospiritual gifts and emotional openness.
- That the releasing of the the shadow sides of the ancient past brings great joy, freedom of expression and better awareness of how to protect ourselves psychically as we step up in our empowerment.
It is another expression of grace that this particular line-up continues through this month, so all of us have the opportunities to work with the above themes.
With Hygeia being even stronger on the North Node this month, this healing goddess reaffirms our right to connect to our sacred sexual energies and their healing power. That Mary Magdalene is included in this broad vision of the future is also cause for celebration and for me, cements an intuition about the relationship between Mary, Hygeia and the tantric goddesses Lalita and Parvati!
Mercury Uranus conjunction in Aries.
I didn’t have enough space for this in Nova article but this is a whiz bang of a line up. Mercury in Aries in itself is a gung ho position for this planet of the mind and our thinking processes; courageous, intuitive in action, forthright and risk-taking. Adding Uranus to Mercury hyper-charges the activities of the mind in ways that are both positively brilliant but also have certain dangers attached.
Uranus is a radical antidote to conservative thinking, overly rigid or structured mindsets, negative conditioning about one’s true capacities and absorbed patriarchal influences. He can open the mind to very exalted levels of consciousness and thought, to new and innovative ways of seeing situations, to more expansive views of the universe and our place in it. Adding Uranus to Mercury is like adding antenna to our brains, giving us access to levels of insight, heightened awareness and liberating thinking. In the old texts they talk about him as a link to the universal mind or the mind of God.
Certainly the way you think, see and communicate can be radically changed by the operations of the planet.
His shadow side is that he tends to be at this disembodying influence. As a sky god he is great for taking us into the higher realms but not so good with the physical manifestation of ideas nor with the emotional implications of the same. Every utopian vision, like Karl Marx’s description of communism, is fantastic in theory but lousy in practice. He prefers to leave that to Saturn, who fortunately is in a good aspect at the moment, a trine to Sagittarius.
On a spiritual level, Uranus is also quite extraordinary. Before the astrological discovery of the Shakti goddesses, Uranus was said to be the prime initiator of kundalini and its movement through our chakras. Certainly in strong Uranus transits, the voltage of Shakti moving through our systems increases exponentially, sometimes so radically that they can temporarily overpower the individual. He can equally put a great deal of strain on our nervous system as well, as he increases the voltage of electricity moving through our nerves and brains.
A good barometer around how well we are travelling with Uranus energy is how free we feel and, how excited we are at the possibility of liberating change. Since he went into Aries proper in 2011 he has constantly pushed all of us towards change that allows our authentic and fiery individualism to be expressed more fully, with passion and purpose.
Just make sure you’re looking after your body, your nervous system and avoid flying too high! Otherwise enjoy the ride.
Black Moon, Kali, Lilith and Uranus Grand Cross.
This intense and mysterious grand cross continues, one that I suspect feeds into many of the destructive dramas across the planet. When the sacred feminine has been buried and betrayed for so long, then she surfaces as distortions that feed the activities of terrorists and fundamentalists of all codes, infusing the delusions of mostly male leaders and protagonists.
While few of us are in a position to make a difference on the grand scale, these kind of line-ups are always a calling to attend to our own distortions, through purificatory practices while consciously reclaiming all the faces of the goddess, and in this case, the dark goddesses in particular. While Uranus acts as an accelerant to the explosiveness of these goddesses, he, supported by Hygeia in Virgo and Pallas Athena in Aquarius, as well as the core energies of the very same goddesses, we also have opportunities for tremendous healing and liberation if we can work on the right levels with them.
The Black Moon, Kali and Lilith all share the capacity to carry ancient forms of grief, trauma, betrayal and rage. And this requires working with them with the raw emotional processes of therapies like primal, breath work and expressive experiential astrology. If we can back this work up with psychic-emotional purificatory practices, like Andrew Harvey’s Golden Kali meditation, we can dig out the distortions and begin to safely reclaim the transformative and tantric potency of these profoundly loving and inclusive images of the sacred feminine.
This is tough, challenging and often scary work but if not now, when it is most needed, then when?
It is through this work that we can make our best contributions to the collective, for our children and grandchildren, for the planet, for all the disadvantaged and underprivileged. We can turn our rage, sense of impotency and our pain into sacred outrage, one of the necessary fuels for becoming sacred activists.
With love and blessings,
Daniel
