A. This is obviously a vast question but both the reclamation of the goddess and the full expression of self are, I believe, collective processes that demand attention from all of us and particularly for women. Also some of the challenges for you are those of your generation and especially for those born with Chiron in Aries.
When Uranus went into Aries fully in March of 2010 a clarion call went out to everyone on the planet that it is now time to find more of our individual uniqueness and to express its gifts with greater freedom into the world. People vary in how they respond to this call, but its part of the reason that there’s been so much chaos, excitement and so many creative outbursts around, not to mention the necessary challenges to stagnant and co-dependent relationships.
There’s another 5 years of this transit but when Pluto moved into hard aspect with Uranus in 2012 the stakes got higher and more intense, the changes more radical. This hard and relentless drive towards change and individual freedom continues into this year for all of us and is the main source of your own urge for a fuller expression of self.
His is particularly traumatic for Arian children who are normally fiery, wilful extrovert adventurers and subsequently their own fire gets subverted or comes out in exaggerated ways born of frustration and dismay.
This theme is repeated by the fact that the ruler of Aries, the warrior Mars is conjunct Saturn, an aspect that has an initial reputation for the suppression of fire, anger, assertiveness and courage. That both are conjunct the South Node of the Moon links this tendency to your past-life records in both positive and negative ways.
One of the great targets of your own healing is the wounded and wounding male within you that you carry from this heritage. Underneath this lies a beautiful, connected, healing masculinity that, unlike its wounded layer, has a positive and empowering relationship with the feminine. It’s no news to anyone that a wounded and conditioned masculine is bad news for her too by messing with masculine/feminine boundaries.
I’m chuckling as I write this next section. You have no lack of goddess connections in your chart. Hygeia is on your Mercury; Pallas and Psyche are on your Moon, Persephone is also on your South Node while Diana is on your North Node; your witch queen Hekate is hidden under Saturn but is teaming up with Medusa via progression to take on the patriarch; Juno is conjunct Ceres in your house of long term relationships; Lilith is in your 10th house, to mention the more obvious ones.
My sense is that it’s not their availability that is at issue, it’s the depth that we have to go to really connect with some of them. In this respect it’s a similar story with healing Chiron wounds, we have to dive into and through our stuff to get to the essence and the gifts.
Some of the goddesses are more available than others. The warrior goddess Pallas on your Moon is more reachable in a masculine culture, she confers her wisdom, independence and intelligence on us and is not afraid to get stuck in with the boys (Julia Gillard is a Pallas women for instance, who’s wisdom is unfortunately not always available). Psyche, also on your Moon, is an exquisite energy sitting between Neptune and Venus, very upper chakra, intuitive, mystical and empathetic.
It’s the darker ones like Medusa, Lilith and Hekate that we really have to dig for, which often requires searing journey’s through our own darkness and some very toxic places that mortals fear to tread. Each of your have been either in conflict with the masculine or have gone underground, beneath the suppressing agencies of the Saturnian patriarch (something that makes them far more lethal and disturbing)
The healing journey with them is, surprise, surprise, very similar in some ways to that of Chiron and Saturn. It’s about facing our pain, rage and grief, whatever its origins, past-life and/or family system and staying with it. It calls for a deep commitment, consistent inner work, therapy and intense spiritual practices.
It also calls us to identify how we disconnect, split-off, defend and anesthetise ourselves to avoid our pain, because anything that takes us out of our bodies and our emotions is an insult to the goddess within. Of course, at times we need to be able to detach but when this becomes chronic and habitual, it betrays us and her.
It also calls for release and the breaking up of old inhibiting and controlling tendencies, through ecstatic dance, emotional release work, and unstructured creative expression, so that we can practice letting go, allowing her to move us and move through us.
All of this is being supported in you at this time. I’ve already mentioned the Hekate/Medusa duo lining up in these years. Transiting Chiron is conjunct your Venus, progressed Ceres and Juno, as well as Eros and Jupiter, a fantastic healing combination and opportunity, that will be repeated during the year. Your progressed Mercury also is exactly conjunct your Persephone right now, an invitation to be initiated into the deeper mysteries of the sacred, dark feminine.
The time is right and the grace is clearly here. Now its time to act with all of the courage of your Arian essence. Go well!
