There is no doubt this is going to be very powerful month with enormous opportunities for deep healing, purification and transformation, given this line up of the new moon with Kali, Hygeia and the Black Moon, and the supporting trines and sextile to other parts of the chart.
The question mark around all of this is how willing and able we are to dive into the deepest primal layers of self, to recognise our shadow areas and its capacity for destructive tendencies, to face our emotional and sexual demons.
If we consider that this is driven by goddesses that want our greatest freedom, our true wholeness and integrity, to be authentically and powerfully oneself and to go out into the world with greater empowerment, then opportunity is too lightweight a word for what’s on offer here.
And it would be delusional of us to think that we have any real choice here. The only real choice we have is whether we go with these demands from the deepest layers of our core or we choose to avoid, deny and anaesthetise in the naive hope of sailing through.
With Kali and the Black Moon (who is the closest Western astrology has to Durga and the Black Madonna) in the mix, purificatory response will erupt naturally within us. So we can expect the upwelling of ancient psychospiritual residues, emotional toxicity as well as parts of self that haven’t seen the light day for many years if not lifetimes. Whether rage, grief, trauma, joy, desire, fire and ferocity, whatever surfaces needs to be recognised, felt, honoured and released.
For those of us who are conscious of carrying distortions to the sacred feminine from your family systems, particularly from generations of women who could not claim their full potency, passion and individuality, this maha-constellation is an extraordinary opportunity to unburden ourselves.
One of the beauties of this line-up is that no matter how dark and toxic some of this material may be, the very same power within us that knows how to heal and purify the same is almost miraculously available at the very same time. And this is why getting proactive with whatever spiritual and therapeutic techniques work for you is so critical.
Simultaneously there is so much joy and freedom to be experienced as well. On the very first Kali workshop I ever ran, a friend and client was able to release her inner Durga and I will never forget the pure joyous radiance that emanated from her as she moved with all her passion and creativity, free to be expressed in the world.
The same freedom can be found in any of the current conscious dance processes if we can drop more deeply out of our minds and into a purer authentic expression of the deep self. Each of these goddesses express as a wild, pure joy particularly when the truth is being honoured and expressed.
Saturn in Sagittarius sextile Jupiter in Libra
On a more mundane and yet still very significant level, having Jupiter and Saturn coming into a good alignment is both a gift and a relief, particularly after the Saturn Jupiter Square in the first half of this year. Here both energies, however contradictory and at times antagonistic, get to show us their best. The careful planner, creator of structures and the wise man of discipline enters into effective cooperation with visionary and opportunistic Jupiter. The earthy manager grounds and holds the space for the enthusiastic ideas man, while the optimistic and idealistic energy of Jupiter lifts Saturn out of his more conservative and stagnant tendencies, so that both of them can fly.
Even in traditional business and financial astrology, good connections between Jupiter and Saturn are fabulous for creating positive structure in the world, good for setting up new enterprise as they balance realism with vision, discipline with expanded thinking.
Saturn conjunct Venus in Sagittarius
Any combination of Saturn and Venus is traditionally considered as difficult, the openhearted desires of Venus not doing so well with those aspects of Saturn that produce inhibition, obstacles to intimacy and need to face the shadow areas of our love lives.
Nevertheless the conjunction is a joining of these forces, a sober time of re-evaluation, getting clearer on boundaries, being aware of your own limits as well as those of others in the journey towards love. Saturn, like a warrior goddesses, demands that we dig down into the truth of things, of facing the reality of what’s really going on, or not, so that we can take responsibility for what is working and what is not, with clear eyes and without sentimentality.
As an enemy of superficiality, he will offer us opportunities to live and love with greater depth, integrity and psychic autonomy. Any relationship that begins around a Saturn Venus conjunction has purpose, long term significance and the possibility of longevity. It is also a considerable ally for deeper commitment, for maturing a relationship and somewhat paradoxically, offering real freedom within a quality relationship.
Venus Saturn conjunction also has great aspects, with Venus sextiling Jupiter in Libra and Eros in Aquarius, while trining Uranus in Aries, all of which offer growth, expansion, playfulness and the liberating experience of passion creative expressed.
This combination is also an exceptional one for both focus and freedom in expressing our creativity.
In this context then the Saturn position acts as a launching pad to leap into new expressions of Venus energy. Have fun with that!
With love and blessings,
Daniel
