A. I’ve been slowly pondering this, as Pluto is such a powerful force in both our personal and collective lives, representing those ancient deities who ruled over life and death, transformation and rebirth. And its arrival in a sign has often coincided with major wars and profound change, 9/11 being its most obvious symbolic expression in Sagittarius…click ‘Read More’ to continue…
When we have an energy of deep structural change in a sign that has so much to do with internal and external structures, then we can obviously expect some deep tectonic movements on both levels. I’m sure that those who specialize in financial astrology are feeling both worried and deeply contemplative of the possibilities when Pluto is going to get stuck into our economic, legal and international financial systems. Certainly much that in reality and symbolically represents our deeper security needs is going to get challenged.
Clearly, what constitute success and achievement, notions of appropriate growth, our relationship to what we use, our behaviour towards the planet and her bounty, the importance we place on material and financial security, are all up for deep and not necessarily pleasant change. However destructive some of its expressions can be though, if the energy is handled well, then positive, long-lasting change is possible. What can tip the scales here is how well our leaders can act as true elders and statesmen (and women). Nothing pleases the Capricorn archetype more than mature and high quality leadership.
On a personal level, much has to do with how we respond to these great collective processes while forging a deeper level of self-responsibility, maturity and self-reliance in our day to day world. This is a serious time, necessarily so, as what happens now will effect generations to come.
On an inner level, Pluto will work to heal some of the classic Capricornian issues in us, focusing on dissolving old defences and personas, reversing some of the masculinising tendencies to recover the deeper feminine and sensitivity within the sign, dropping powerful depth-charges around our conditioning, so that the deep wisdom and maturity inherent within the sign can surface more easily and, getting clearer on the distinction between accumulation and advancement from (in)security needs versus being able to master this thing called life and to create one that truly fits us.
Spiritually, this signals a time of invoking the ancient parts of Capricorn associated with ritual magic, earth-based religions, with true eldership and with the earth magician who knows how to bring the power and magic of the gods down to earth. As this finds its own contemporary expressions, we can also expect some enormous shifts in technology that will hopefully serve to heal both our environments and our connections to our inner selves.
