Once again have a look at the current Nova article HERE to get an overview of the month in general. Now we are going to have a look at the two eclipses more specifically.
The first one is a partial solar eclipse peaking on the New Moon July 13th at 11:01 AM AWST, 1.01 p.m. AEST with the Sun and Moon at 20° of Cancer. And even though it is a partial one, it is exceptional and extremely powerful, with the eclipse chart including two grand trines, two intense T squares, a near complete grand sextile and oppositions from the Sun and Moon to the Pluto/Black Moon conjunction!
It would require thousands of words to fully flesh this out fully, so forgive my need to summarise its major themes. As any eclipse intensifies whatever are the current astrological line ups, all the themes I’ve written about in Nova are magnified.
The things that have changed though are: –
- the eclipsing Sun and Moon, while retaining a grand trine with Jupiter and Neptune, are in T-square with a Kali/Eros conjunction in Aries and the Pluto/Moon conjunction, by far the most challenging arrangement. While a New Moon eclipse offers awesome capacity for new beginnings, this T-square demands deep purification and transformation, the digging out of a lot of personal, past life, generational and collective trauma, rage and grief. The gifts of this are clearer lower chakras, deep sexual healing and tantric awakenings, greater personal and spiritual empowerment, if of course we are willing and able to work fully in sync with these demands.
- With the Sun and Moon at the pinnacle of the luscious grand trine with Jupiter and Neptune there is a tremendous amount of grace and psychospiritual fluidity in support of the healing and potential awakenings.
- Even though Kali is fiercely placed in the above, this awesome spiritual warrior for the truth is in a grand trine herself, with her consort Shiva in Sagittarius and with another potent conjunction of Lilith, Hekate and Mercury in Leo. Here the dark feminine rises in all her glory, forms a tantric connection with the sacred masculine, all of which is available for conscious recognition thanks to the position of Mercury.
- Venus in Virgo conjuncts the great mother in the form of Ceres/Demeter, a very fertile and nurturing combination that forms a grand trine with Saturn in Capricorn and the conjunction of Uranus and Juno in Taurus. While the latter conjunction pushes for innovative change in our core relationships, this is well balanced with the stabilising and consolidating energies of Saturn. It’s great to have so much positive and loving earth energy amid such momentous change, as we are in a better position to ground and manifests the gifts of such change.
The 28th July is a total lunar eclipse peaking at 4:22 AM AWST and 6:22 AM AEST. While not as intense archetypally as the first one, due to Pluto and the Black Moon finally separating, it is still very powerful and puts a far greater focus on the South and North nodes of the Moon, those mysterious reflections of soul purposes and visions.
(Which is why we are running our Passion, Purpose, Promise workshop on that weekend!)
The additional themes of this second eclipse our: –
- the Aquarius Moon conjunctions Mars and the Black Moon on the South Node, activating considerable past life memories, history, as well as skills and knowledge from these sources. While Mars has been around the South Node from June to July, invoking such history around both masculine warrior and Wizard energies, being joined by the Black Moon dredges even more deeply into past life territory, particularly around the use and abuse of power, the old battle lines between masculine and feminine culture, the consequences of the rejection of the deep sacred feminine, all of which is up for healing and purification so we can get better access to the transformative powers of self and to the sacred warriors, male and female.
- The eclipsing Sun is perfectly aligned with the North Node and the warrior goddess Pallas Athena in Leo, a fiery and expressive combination in terms on translating future and soul visions into action and manifestation. Having Pallas here is particularly auspicious, as whatever emerges out of the South Node alchemy, she specialises in the capacity to translate the deepest gifts of both masculine and feminine into supremely focused and intelligent expression in the world.
- The radical Uranus has now been joined by Eros, both of who stand halfway between the Nodes, squaring each of them and their companions. We can call this conjunction “Awakening Eros”, a liberating combination of erotic, playful and mischievous energy, something very welcome at the time of such emotional and soul intensity. However, we need to be watchful around this kind of energy, whether in ourselves or others around us, as it is also a disruptive influence that can quite easily seduce us away of facing what needs to be faced at such critical times in our evolution.
- With the deep challenges and opportunities around these Nodes of the Moon, it is fantastic that the great healing duo of Hygeia and Chiron, together in early Aries, sends great aspects to both nodes, supporting whatever deep healing wants to happen, as well as drawing from the secrets and mysteries of the knowledge we’ve all gathered over many lifetimes and bring that into this world.
May the force be with you
With love and blessings,
Daniel
