THIS MONTH’S ASTROLOGY

Well folks, we are in for another evolutionary and revolutionary experience this month, highlighted by the Chiron loaded Solar Eclipse on the ninth and the starship described by a Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in Taurus.

It is however a very unpredictable dynamic as well, as when Chiron is so prominent, some of the less pleasant aspects of our healing processes, the activation of old patterns and the purging of psychic emotional baggage, can be equally strong. Fortunately, there is also an exquisite Hygeia/Neptune conjunction to support the purification while bringing gracious movement to the inner wheels of healing turning.

And then of course, there is the shadow side of Chiron, where unhealed inner wounds lead some individuals, and nations, to damage others by spewing their own trauma indiscriminately.

It is worthwhile reminding ourselves that eclipses are always awesome opportunities for breakthroughs in our healing and spiritual journeys for those who are doing the work and are available to such outpourings of grace.

Another interesting phenomena this month is that the Magdalena asteroid, an embodiment of Mary Magdalen, is exactly conjunct the Aries Sun at the start of the month, another form of grace and gentler spiritual power embedded in this period of time.

Sun in Aries conjunct North Node, trining Pallas Athena and Lilith in Sagittarius, squaring Ceres in Capricorn

After transiting the subtler watery energies of Pisces, the sign going into Aries is a stepping up into a dynamic, extrovert and more wilful energy that is nevertheless pioneering, initiatory and refreshingly honest (if you can ignore its bluntness and tendency towards insensitivity!). It is driven to act by a Mars inspired desire, passion and restlessness, easy to anger but capable of great achievement.

In highlighting the North node of the Moon, exact on the fourth, the Sun shines a light on future developments, visions and possibilities in the way that the Arian part of self will operate later in our lives, the seeds of which are being planted now. As the North Node also conjuncts Chiron, it speaks of current healing processes around the reclamation of the fiery, independent and pioneering spirit of the sign that will also influence what the future looks like. This includes how our inner healers will contribute to that vision and, how much the Aries side of ourselves will contribute healing energy in service of others, the earth and humanity in general.

Total Solar Eclipse exactly conjunct Chiron at 19° of Aries April 9th Australian time

2:17AM AWST / 4:17AM AEST

Any eclipse represents a dramatic increase in the voltage and power moving through the collective at any point, in ways that exaggerates all other alignments of the time, positive and negative. This “New Moon” eclipse describes the Sun and Moon coming exactly together on the Wounded Healer, it highlights the already awesome masculine healing potentials of the month but, as I mentioned before, can equally trigger the wounded and wounding reactions of the unhealed masculine in both genders.

Other highlights of the eclipse include an exquisite exact conjunction of Venus and the healing goddess Hygeia, a tougher exact conjunction of Mars and Saturn and, some powerful triggering of the very close but not exact conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus. The latter in particular adds to the unpredictable and potentially explosive qualities of the eclipse.

To make the most of the healing opportunities, come to our Shiva Shakti workshop in Sydney on April 13/14th, where we will work directly with all the major players in the eclipse.

Mercury Retrograding in Aries until the 26th

Well may we groan with this planet of the mind in trickster mode for most of the month. And yet while outer communications can go awry, misunderstandings abound, emails get lost and computers go crazy and disobedient, there is also an invitation to be less outgoingly verbal and more contemplative. Which is something that doesn’t sit easily with classic Aries energy but nevertheless offer alternative pathways of thinking, greater internal realisations and productive time spent in meditation, particularly when there is a considerable amount of chaos in the collective.

What is also very significant is that while Mercury is backing over the earlier parts of the sign, it will form short but significant conjunctions, with the Sun on the 12th, Chiron on the 16th, Venus on the 19th and, on the day he goes stationary, with the visionary North Node of the Moon. Each of these are significant days for enhancing conscious awareness of each of these other parts of self.

Going stationary on the North Node on the 26th gives us a week long, additional look into our individual potential futures, and the way we take Aries energy into the next stages of our lives.

Venus in Pisces conjunct Neptune, sextiling Uranus conjunct Eros in Taurus

A Venus Neptune conjunction is a classic line up for falling head over heels in love with somebody but the fine line between accurate intuitive and spiritual vision and, complete self-delusion and projection, can be almost invisible. It is also not so good for having clear boundaries with significant others. So, on each of these levels be cautious.

However, we can have extraordinary heart openings and experiences of profound and unconditional love. There can be a very devotional quality in our love energies at this time but do be watchful around potential in enmeshment.

The sextile to the enlivening Uranus/Eros conjunction stimulates a desire for newness, passion and liberating erotic expression, which can be a lot of fun in the right context.

However, not all is happy in the realms of Venus at this time. See below!

Mars in Pisces conjunct Saturn

Mars is in Pisces for the duration of the month and will line up exactly with Saturn on the 11th, another conjunction that will be powerfully energised by the eclipse two days earlier.

The passage of this warrior God through Pisces is not such an easy one as the rather egocentric action man of the planets prefers the freedom to act in any circumstances. Whereas being in a more nebulous water sign can diminish his capacities, while forcing greater attention to the emotional and the psychic energies of any situation. It’s like sending a hardened warrior into a developing empathy program, or into a Shaolin monastery that includes meditation and being able to use subtler levels of awareness to act even more precisely.

In less black and white terms, that this transit can also help create a greater alignment between warrior energy and spirituality, where we can act more creatively in pursuit of subtler goals and visions.

Lining up with Saturn can further this development as the Wise Old Man can confer greater self-discipline, self-responsibility, practical capability and healthy realism, the latter so needed in the fluctuant waters of Pisces. Fortunately, Saturn is still in a helpful sextile to Jupiter in Taurus, a great combination for manifesting in the world and one that can balance out some tougher aspects from Mars to the goddess archetypes.

Jupiter conjunct Uranus

(and Eros in Taurus)

This meeting of two exalted expressions of the masculine, two sky gods if you like, is one of the most liberating conjunctions in astrology, as both of these stretch us beyond the known, the predictable, the boring and the stagnant. In doing so each in their own way challenge any rigid structures, internally and externally, that hinder life enhancing growth and change. Each is an antidote to excessive Saturnian rigidity whether in thought, belief and creative manifestation.

By radicalising the spirit of change they open up the possibility of living a more inspired, more impassioned life based on expressing our own individual uniqueness, gifts and genius. It makes us more receptive to creative change, to revolutionary and innovative ideas and visions, and this applies to our thinking, our intellects and to our spirituality.

However good this all sounds, we also need to be conscious of a tendency for going over the top, of identifying with idealistic and delusional utopianism and, that is combination has so much energy it can also be chaotic and destabilising. It is fortunate that this is all in Taurus, which will support a greater degree of groundedness than normally found with this alignment.

The conjunction peaks on the 21st and colours the whole of the next six weeks.

To make the most of these liberating opportunities, come to our Shiva Shakti workshop in Sydney on April 13/14th, where we will work directly with the Jupiter/Uranus peak and with all the major players in the eclipse.

Enjoy! And take care, with all these big movements and make use of the awesome healing and spiritual opportunities inherent in the collective this month.

With love and Blessings,

Daniel
