Turning Aquarian insight into practice

Welcome Dear Ones

This week the sky gathers a rare council in Aquarius, with warriors, priestesses, lovers and underworld gods all crowding into the same sacred space. You may feel overstimulated, electric, or strangely pressured to evolve faster than feels comfortable. Let that be information rather than a problem. Wherever there is intensity, there is also a doorway. Experiential Astrology is one way we step through that doorway together, not in theory but in the body.

We are entering an extraordinary period of concentrated energy in the sign of Aquarius, starting with an awesome stellium, a multiple conjunction involving eight planets and asteroids in the first 10° of the sign!

And, what a mix! We have warriors, goddesses of love, gut wrenching transformers, earth priestesses and tantric yogi gods, with the Sun exactly in the middle.

Mars conjunct Pluto: masculine drive and desire fuelled by an underworld god of death and rebirth and transformation. Brilliant for deep change if directed well but powerfully destructive and rage filled if not. Great for making big changes and getting things done but watch out for arrogance, ruthlessness, and power over tactics.

Sun conjunct Vesta: an earth goddess/priestess who specialises in grounding and concentrating energy. A perfect foil for the heady tendencies of Aquarius, and for the grounding of the sign’s brilliance.

Mercury conjunct Medusa: here our conscious intellects get to access the deeper intelligence of the feminine, and a time that we can learn more about the fiercely loving, beautiful and tantric essence underneath the enraged Gorgon’s protective mask. She longs to be seen, accepted and reintegrated!

Venus conjunct Shiva: the goddess of love intertwines herself around the yogi lord of tantra in an expression of the sacred marriage between masculine and feminine. The potential for high-quality sex is an invitation into furthering our relationship evolution within ourselves and with our beloveds, especially when the goddess of the sacred marriage Parvati is opposite all eight archetypes from Leo!

So, it’s going to be a very busy time, on many levels. Juggling all of this is beyond the average mortal, but it is worth making time for any of the above that have energy for you.

On Tuesday, the great planet of mysticism, vision, illusion and delusion and psychospiritual openings, Neptune, goes back into Aries to begin his 12 year transit of this sign of the Ram. He is closely followed by Saturn who enters Aries mid-February, and the two weave their way around Shivaratri, and a total eclipse to meet exactly in the last Saturn/Neptune conjunction on the 21st.

Where am I currently experiencing pressure to transform?

How might Mars and Pluto be acting out through me instead of moving through me?

Practice:

1. Sit or lie down and feel the weight of your body.
2. Inhale through the nose for a count of 4, exhale through the mouth for a count of 6.
3. As you exhale, imagine releasing old armour from your muscles and jaw.
4. Bring to mind one situation where anger or intensity has been strong.
5. Ask inwardly, “What is the healthy action or boundary this energy is asking for”
6. Write down any simple, doable step and commit to one small action.

Archetype Spotlight: 

Venus and Shiva, The Sacred Marriage

Venus entwined with Shiva evokes the sacred marriage of love and consciousness, body and spirit. This is eros as a path of awakening, not just pleasure or drama. The feminine principle brings warmth, beauty and feeling. The masculine principle offers presence, structure and witnessing.  Together they invite deeper, more honest relating.

Inside us, this marriage shows up as the meeting between our tender needs and our inner adult capacity to stay. When they are split, we either chase love or shut it down. When they come into yoga together, intimacy becomes a place of practice rather than performance.

The sacred marriage begins with you becoming intimate with your own felt sense. Eros, love and consciousness become trustworthy when your body is included, not overridden.

Practical takeaway:
When the sacred marriage gets stirred, track your body, not your story.

• Notice where you feel it in your body and give it a little movement or sound.
• Then name one simple truth in the present tense, like, “Right now my chest is tight but my breath is easier,” and choose either deepening connection or a short, clear timeout.
